Monday I had one of my weekly injection 250mg’s of test/e in the glute. Yesterday I was so sore I could barely sit and today my whole ass cheek is so swollen. It’s not where the injection was, it’s a bit higher and feels like a huge knot. The site area is not red or bruised but still very sore today. I’m on week 5 and have not had any issues with soreness this bad. How long should I wait before I really start to worry? I have just done the injections in my glutes but alternate cheeks.

Anyone else have this happen? This really is a 'pain in the ass'.

I had that happen a couple of times. I don't know what causes it but man it hurst!!! I also got that scar tissue and when you pin through it it almost feels like it's ripping through. Went to the delts!!! Much better!

You have to be careful sometimes when you pin the hip area. Right by the upper outer hip area you will feel a bunch of muscles and tendons. If you mess up and hit one of those or come too close to a bony area it will hurt like hell and swell. Ice the area for the 1st 24 hrs and nsaids or aspirin for pain and inflammation then after 48 hrs use heat. Those Thermacare things work pretty good if you want the heat to go or hate power plugs around you and if you can stand it, use a massager on or near the area. It helps any bruising reabsorb quicker.

If none of that works after trying the above for about 5 days go see a doc. It could be an abscess or if something wasn't sterile could be an infection which is no fun. But if you tell the doc the truth which you should be ready for a lecture and if like me an argument, lol

Good luck and best wishes with that bro

that happens even to the veteran injectors every now and then. 99% of my injections are perfectly fine. But every now and then I'll get real sore and a little knot.
Don't worry bro

That is exactly where the pain is, I have been pinning to the side more than in towards the crack just to avoid hitting my sciatic nerve. Everything was sterile, new needle, new plunger. Sitting on an ice pack now and about to pop some ibuprofen. Thanks guys for the feedback! (no homo)

Knots are common and they will go away. If its red, warm, and swollen it could be signs of infection, which is very bad. More than likely it isn't.

Make sure after you pin you kneed the area very firmly with your knuckle for about 1 minute to spread the oil out into the muscle. You do not want the drug to just sit there in a little "pocket" in the muscle. That is a good way to get an infection.
