Yes he is. A great visual artist as well. His 'Shock the Monkey' piece pretty much revolutionized music videos and his stop motion work with the Quay Brothers was extraordinary. I think alot of their animated work and Jan Svankmajer's heavily influenced Tim Burton. (ooo, Sweeney Todd's out)
I remember the "Sledgehammer" video like it came out last week. MTV played the fuck out of it.
Back when it was actually Music Television and not a bunch of reality shows.

That is an awesome recording one of my fave's. I am a drummer and was amazed at the long stroke that Mason has back then. Fu## now I'm going to have to put the disc on I was so impressed when they released it on disc remastered with the added effects.
