I was just listening to some early Who like, 'My Generation' and 'Magic Bus' (unfortunately NOT on vinyl) and it felt like I was right there in the studio sitting next to Keith Moon.


Too bad most processing of today's music seems to place the listener center seat, center aisle on the floor.

Oh, I love it, too! I like the clarity and crispness of those early recordings, it's like you're right between the bass, drums, and guitar. Most contemporary stuff sounds like it's mixed and processed for that one *ideal* seat, like there is no room for nuance in level, or motif for that matter. Gimme someone like Moon slamming away trying to drown out Townsend's guitar without a concern to modulate.
