Photoshop guru question....

Would going from 1.5 GB or Ram to 2 GB of Ram be worth while? Would it make a significant difference?

I know more is better...but sometimes it really is not worth it.

Not really, unless maybe you are running other apps at the same time. But the extra ram isn't going to make photoshop itself run better or give it new features.

Did you try it?

A buddy bought 4 GB of Ram for Photoshop. Then said the app only uses 2 GB.

I have 2 g of ram, but when I upgraded from only 512, I didn't see a drastically significant improvement in it. But that was only because when I run Photoshop at 512, I had no other apps open. Now it is slightly faster (small percent) whether or not I have other things open or not. I usually have my cam link open and/or the TV box open in the corner while I play with it.

If you did serious work like layers and airbrushing, you would notice more.

I have heard that about 1 GB is the most cost effective.

They will have the next edition next March. Have not heard what the changes will be though.

I don't know what the changes to photoshop will be either but come Feb I will probably have a training on it. The changes they made to acrobate are fantastic IMHO really brought together content colabiration if you have an older version of acrobate you for sure should be looking to upgrade. :nerd:
