Question:

Just moved into my new home and my dog whom is 4 years old is pissing on my carpet. He has never done this and is paper trained for long periods of time and never wanders. Is this the new home thing? He is also not eating his dry food. Not a dog expert anybody??

I know that when I bought my house it took my dog a while to get used to it. She never went through the peeing stage, but my vet said some dogs do especially if they are not fixed.

may get him fixed it was a thought. is he maybe to old? i think he was a gift in june of 99 and he was 8 months but i maybe off a year.

just built no other animals in it. will call the vet about getting him ficked. no shit he is humping my male cat.

Fixing may or may not help. We had to crate our dogs when we weren't home and essentially go through a very brief bout of house breaking again. I think it's normal for a male to want to mark his territory. Even for dogs! (Sorry, couldn't resist).

BTW, humping is not sex related. It's dominance related. A dominant bitch will hump a dog or another bitch. I've even seen ones who hike their legs (sort of) or do a little jump upwards so they can mark higher than the guys do on the neighborhood fire hydrant.

He might, just might, have urinary tract infection. Ask your vet when you take him in.

Age doesn't matter when fixing an animal. In fact, unless your dog is for breeding and has had all the necessary health checks, neutering is better for him. He won't tend to roam as much, and he will have less chance of developing testicular or prostate cancer.
