Peripheral neuropathy

Hi,

I was wondering if there any HIV+ members who suffer from peripheral neuropathy, and what you have found that helps. This is common with HIV disease, I hear.

I do not have HIV but a conginital immune problem and have sensory neuropathy in my feet.

I have found that Erythropoietin helps

Logically, AS should also help since they increase endogenous EPO.

There is some evidence that IGF-1 would help. I am thinking about trying a cycle of igtropin, if I can find a trustworthy source.

The chemicals rh Nerve Growth Factor and Neurotropin-3 may also be needed for regeneration. None of these are approved by FDA and wont be for years or decades. Anywhere else one could look? China? Research chemical suppliers?

I have also been experimenting with acyt-l-carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, EFAs and B vitamins.

Unfortunally there is nothing good on the market yet to deal with this. I simply had to be removed from one of my "D" drugs when I had first signs of PN. That is for PWA's is usually the best solution - in essents they have used up one of their drugs available. Sorry that I could not be more informative. Good luck, Alan.

Gabapentin is an option for pn in patients. Sometimes anticonvulsants are an option. Talk with your doc.
