People that smoke--- Do they hate themselves?

They look so miserable and desperate coming out of the store with their cancer sticks. I just think you've got to have self hatred to do that shit?

Sometimes my feet smoke after I run real fast.

i just dont like when ppl smoke around my 3 year old sister. other then that dont care, or when some one smokes in the gym

I HATE smokers. Why do you do it? Are you just plain old retarted. If I told you that if you do something it will not benefit you in anyway and can kill you and the loved ones in your househould, would you still do it? If you are a smoker that is what you are doing.

i know that i hate to be around them!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people are, some aren't. In college, practically everyone smokes' akin to drinking, it's just a social thing to do when bs'ing as chilling.

Most people I know who are smokers dont hate themselves.

I smoke cigars sometimes, I'm in a cigar smoking club, and we dont hate ourselves.

I think people who smoke and make a big deal about not being able to quit, really dont want to but they sorta want to be socially accepted too.

Wow Flexy, that's a strong statement. I think it's a retarded thing to do too and when I was your age, I said that I hated them too. I do dislike smokers that have no consideration for others.

Years ago I used to work out at a community centre, and during the evenings a couple of times a week they would have bingo in the gymnasium connected to the workout area.

Talk about fucking smoke.

Well, seeing as this was quite a long time ago, and most of the bingo players were elderly, I'm sure they're all dead by now.:D

Look at me, I'm better than people who smoke. I'm so fucking great.

I don't smoke either. I do my share of other stupid crap though. I meant what I said about being better than smokers though. I'd fuck their shit up.

It really, really bothers me! I am not kidding. My MIL smokes. I hate it. I also hate the way she smokes when she visits us and throws her butts wherever she wants, without a care. Atleast she knows enough to not smoke in my house. It's a major problem. When I eventually have kids, there is no way in hell they are ever going to stay with her if she smokes.

Smokers are the rudest people in the world. If you have to smoke, please go to an open area where there are no people. Why should I have to walk past you and breathe in your cancer causing smoke. I didn't chose to smoke, you did. I really, really hate it with a passion. I have no problem walking up to any smoker and telling them to go smoke somewhere else.

Me too. Many a time, I have told a person that they can't smoke inside the 7 Eleven and other places. Only a couple of times did the person argue with me. One reason I like being big, the assholes are more likely to listen to you. My MIL smoked also and was rude as shit about it.

I used to work in a liquor store. On occasion, there would be a customer strolling in smoking a cigarette or a cigar. They're usually cool about it and go outside and put it out. This one jerk though ... He was like, "What? I didn't see a sign," and continued to stand there. It's like dude, it's like any other fucking public place. Idiot.

Why do we have to move to an open area? Why don't you just walk the other way or around people who are smoking.

the best way to answer this Question is to also ask ourselves: do people that masturbate love themselves? the answer lies within

There is no such thing as a considerate smoker. Think about it, they have no consideration for themselves so why would they care about you or me or anyone else. That being said, I smoked in college, started out at parties around the keg, ended up full time. Never got addicted, I just quit one day so maybe Im just lucky but regardless, most smokers are selfish and inconsiderate. I finally went out to a club a few weeks ago, had a good time, but I came home reeking of stale smoke. Everyday I see them tossing butts out of their car, emptying their ashtrays on the street, and worst of all, I see tons of people happily puffing away with kids and babies in the car. Every smoker I know that got pregnant, conmtinued smoking throughout the pregnancy. I firmly believe that smokers are a menace to society.

No offense, but if you have to ask this question then you are a couple sandwiches short of a picnic.

I agree thast govt interference should be kept to a minimum, but we also have laws against people harming each other and thats how I see anti-smoking laws. If there were no laws against spitting in peoples faces you better believe thered be a lot of spiting in peoples faces, same with smoking. There is no other way to prevent their foul smoke from entering my lungs, and business owners are licensed to serve the public so we do have a right to a smoke free environment in anyones place of business.

1. you should strap on a pair and tell your mother in law to put her butts in the garbage, instead of just keeping your mouth shut and then bitching about it later.

2. as i would have no problem telling you to fuck off and mind your own business.

oh yeah, i never smoked a cigarette in my entire life.

you have no 'right' to a smoke free environment.

the owner, on the other hand, has the right to set up any rules/standards he wants. if he says smoking is allowed in his bar, it should be allowed.

no one is forcing you to patronize his restaurant. if you dont want to deal with smoke, go elsewhere.

I dont agree anabolicmd.

If the place lets smokers eat there/shop there, just boycott it and eventually they'll go out of business, right? Vote with your wallet. If they want to allow smoking, let them only serve smokers. I think its bullshit how smoking is banned in bars in California.

I think it should be up to the discretion of the individual business owner. If they want to allow smokers, they should be able to. But they should also know that some people will stop going there because of it.

WTF! Do you have a problem with me? Am I not allowed to post my opinnion? Am I not granted that either?

1) It's not my place to tell my MIL what to do, it's her sons. It's called respect. He has since told her that she needs to dispose of her butts in a designated area.

2) Mind my own business? How is this not my business? If you don't like my replies put me on ignore. Other than that, go fuck yourself.

And to think, I use to like you and value your opinnion. I have never, ever said a mean word to you since joining. If you have a beef with me, I'd like to know. Come right out and say it....

That's right.

Just like you have no right to clean drinking water, clean air, safe food, etc..

you people are confusing the word 'right' with 'want'.

and your attempt of trying to draw an equivalence between mass polution of the environment and some bar owner who wants to allow his customers to smoke cigarettes is ridiculous.

you people really dont value individual freedoms, do you?

There are many rules and regulations that businesses have to comply with to get and keep their licences. Many rules/standards are mandated by law. You cant have a restaurant with rats running around, you'll get shut down. If your business is a health hazard, and second hand smoke is a health hazard, it does not have the right to stay open. As for people "voting with their wallets" it doesnt really work that way. If a restaurant has a rat colony in the back and I never see it, how do I vote?

As an aside, I usually sit in the smoking section of resturants even though I dont smoke.

I'd rather breathe the smoke filled air than have my ears polluted by noisy kids.

post any and all opinions you want, but dont expect everyone to just swallow and accept them.

it is your home just as much as it is your husband's, thus you have the right to tell your mother in law not to litter all over the place. what's the problem.

yes, mind your own business and let people do whatever they want to their own bodies. if you dont want to be subjected to it, avoid them.

you need to act more your age and not completely flip shit when people have an opinion that differs than yours.

Okay, now I get it. My apologies.

Anyway, there are two people who smoked right outside my office. Less than 10 ft away. I guess they didn't know people were inside with their windows open:rolleyes: .

I walked right outside and told them that I could smell it, it was giving me a headache, I am trying to work, I can't go anywhere, but they can.

I did the same thing to a guy who was pacing back and forth infront of my window talking really loud on his cell phone. I asked him to please speak somewhere else because I was trying to work and it was distracting me.

the reason they have health codes and organizations like OSHA is to stop the spread of disease.

i dont know anyone who prefers to have rats shit and piss all over their food, nor do i know people who want cockroaches in their ham salad. however, i do know many people who want to smoke a cigarette after they eat, just like i know many people who arent bothered by it.

i dont want to eat at a place that has noisy kids, so i dont go to Chuck-E-Cheeses. do i think the government should step in and ban restaurants that cater to noisy children? no.

if you dont want to be around those who smoke, go to a restaurant that prohibits it on its own accord. no one sticking a gun in your face and forcing you to eat there.

oh yeah, you did read the report by the world health organization that said second hand smoke had no real noticeable effect on others in terms of disease and cancer.

lysol is derived from a nerve agent used in the first world war as a weapon, does that mean dr's and dentists should be prohibited from using it?

You're comparing a rat colony in the back that you cant see or even really know is there to smokers around the bar or in the smoking section. Something you can easily see and choose to go somewhere else if it bothers you that much.

Dont take this next part personally, this is directed at everyone in America.

Thats the thing though, most people dont want to discomfort thier lives in any way regardless of how they feel about something. They're so lazy that they'll go to the same resturants and shops day after day week after week and then bitch about it, instead of changing thier habits, going somewhere else, paying a little bit more, etc.

If it bothers you that much, tell the manager that you're never coming back untill they elimate ALL SMOKING. And then, dont go back even if its your favorite place. If enough people would do this, and stood up for what they believed (non smoking in public) then it would happen and the government wouldn't have to infringe on our rights anymore.

There are some places I used to like to go, but because of decisions they've made or political views these companies hold, I no longer spend any money at them. Sure I'd like to go buy some Ben and Jerry's icecream, but I discomfort myself because I dont want to give them money for the causes they support.

Next thing you know they wont let people smoke in the cigar stores at the mall anymore

I think he knows that, but he just doesnt see smoke as a nuissance. Thats why you will never see eye to eye. Me personally, I dont appreciate anyones smoke in my personal space. Would they mind if I lit some dried cowshit at my table? If Im in a place and the air around me is ok, then someone lights up and stinks up the air Im breathing, I have a problem. And no, I dont think I want to move. Why should I? Im not the one bothering people by stinking up the place. And make no mistake, cigarette smoke stinks BAD, especially stale smoke, it honestly makes me gag its so nasty. I love the new nosmoking laws. They were badly needed.

Second hand smoke inhalation is a lot more dangerous than smoke inhalation through a cigarette (no filter on the person breathing in the shit) ;).
I don't see the point of smoking though, the stress you suppress at present is not worth the stress you'll go through when you realize you fucked up your health (whether it's permanently damaged cilia, heart problems, cancers esp in lungs). I'm still pretty pissed off at my father for smoking until I was 6. Yeah that's another thing, you endanger your family/friends :). I haven't forgiven my father for that smoking shit yet lol.
