Peeps with Xbox 360's... tv question

You are suppose to use a HDTV in order to get the best graphics.

Now how does a LCD tv that is HD ready compare?

So LCD > HDTV?

Hopefully Bestbuy will have a special sale on LCDs Friday. My little neighbor saved up his birthday money and bought himself an Xbox 360 but didn't have enough $$ for a decent tv, so he is playing it on a crappy 17" regular tv. His mother can't afford an expensive tv for him and I was thinking of buying him one for Christmas and giving it to him early.

the LCD tv nowadays usually have a HDMI hookup, make sure u get one with HDMI hookup AAP

What's that for? What's it do? And how will it contribute to just better game graphics? (dont' care shit about tv shows)

hdtv is anything 480p (pixels on the tv screen) and up, wether it be LCD, DLP, Tube, etc. (types if display methods).

LCD is fine and will look awesome, especially for gaming.

Unless you really care about this kid there is no need for the HDMI or DVI input, although more current/high end tvs have it automatically. The xbox360 only has a component output anyways, so HDMI isn't an option for gaming. The only time he would need HDMI is with a dvd player or set top box from cable/satelite, and even then it's still optional.
