likely the most realistic western I've seen
takes a lot courage when you're looking at a loaded barrel close range
marshall studies after WWII
found that out of a 40 man platoon in a firefight
half weren't even firing their weapons, hugging the dirt etc.
of the remaining 20 firing
only two were effectively firing their weapons and actually aiming well
the Germans understood this and made the crew served machine gun the focus of the 10 man squad
understanding you're likely to have more courage with a buddy right there working with you
the US Army adopted German small squad tactics in Vietnam
making keeping the M-60 fed and firing
ironically in all the US wars I find that our military performed the finest in Nam

that was my favorite song Conny a waitress used to play sade in this ritzy best place in town (like the mayor and the guys who own auto dealerships hung out there) in birmingham,alabama that I got my first real bartending job at. 21 I interviewed with a female, got hired. And that woman taught me very aggressively how to bartend. Marble bar with a 3 piece jazz trio with cleveland eaton on some big ass old school bass. Cleveland Eaton used to play with Count Basie.

anyhow I just want to go to Vegas and bartend again. I really know people and have panache
and still recall the difference between a rob roy and a perfect rob roy
muddle a manhatten
and can laugh and tell jokes again a work
my mom used to admonish me when I'd be on the net perhaps posting here and laughing
shit mom they can't hear me the minister is still delivering his points (funerals are like showtime to clergy because they get to speak to more than the usual run of the mill-or flock whatever, congregation yeah yeah)
everybody likes new faces
but that's a whole 'nother discussion

the worst funeral was this ministers wife had died
and that bitch went on for two hours
of course the minister was responsible for over an hour of comments
but he was last and best I can figure the speakers he had lined up to glorify his wife's existence
being first in line and part of his country conflagration
thought they would spend ample time also glorifying his wife
shit like that happens
when some guy,clergy or not, has assigned such importance to him worlds sphere he doesn't think about others
just him and the loss of his glorious wife (sorry can't recall if she was obese or not)

on the opposite end of such
one time a rather dignified wealthy lady died and her funeral was way out in some country church, red brick though-meaning it had money to be built
anyhow next to the church was the cemetery where she was to be buried
so we got this mega funeral underway,i.e. the casket is in, cars parked, showtime
and I could see the gravesite form the church entrance
about a hundred yards away
in this business you employ some "secondary labor"; guys with not much in the way of skills who our cemetery manager of the week
wells manages
but you can't be sure they're going to get it right
so when you have some spare time you double check 'em (more on that later)
well ms hoity toity her beloved family had lined up 3 ministers
jesus christ I'm thinkin' this is going to go on all afternoon
so after the funeral gets rollin' I take a stroll for a hundred yards out to the grave site
make sure the flowers are arranged nice like and not by neatheredlahs
and like after 8 minutes, bear in mind this is a 3 minister mega funeral I'm thinking, using prior experinces as my guide, would be 30 minutes at the least
so I'm graveside 100 yards away and look over at the church after about 8 minutes
and my dad is waving me franctically to get back to showtime
shit wtf
