My pain managment doctor prescribed me pain medication oxycotin and roxicodone for my injured foot.. the medication helps take the pain away, but it makes me feel nasueated after taking it.. anyone have this issue?

Whatever type of injury that you must have incured must be moderate to severe because any Oxy type med or Roxi(whatever, both could technically be in the same category), are a very harsh narcotic to the body, but most importantly to the psychie. Even if the dosage of your Oxy was at say 10mg. even QD then you with be succeptable to dependancy from the drug, whether intentional or not. I'm not sure why they gave you two of the same drugs, unless they are of different mgs. and release times(enterically coated or not) but they both with cause nausea and upset stomach, constipation, low heart rate and blood pressure, insomnia(yes, even though it knock you out it does so for very short periods of time)weight gain, and the list goes on but the major issues that are of most concern are dependancy and heart rate/blood pressure. These are factors that are most likely the cause of Anna's death from an interaction of Methadone and other medications. Just make sure your PCP knows EVERYTHING that you put into your body. This is a very vital thing, don't play around with it. ANYWAY, there are some ways you can TRY to avoid these reactions, which are not uncommon, such as eating types of foods with a base type structure, as opposed to an acidic type structure. Eating plenty of breads and pastas may help, milk, and stay away from sodas, foods with lots of sugars(natural or not), and always take INBETWEEN eating a meal. Not before, and not after. I hope this helps atleast somewhat, good luck on your recovery. B.

feeling nausiated is an unfortuniate side effect of taking pretty much any kind of pain pill, I currently have a prescription for hydrocodene from a back injury. If you feel that its unbearable talk to the person that prescribed the medication to you. short and sweet but the dude above me couldnt of said it better

Thanks guys! that did help alot!!! :) I dont take all my medication.. I have ton of it around the house, so I don't think Im reliable to it
