Pain in wrists

Axed99

Hey guys lately me and my brother have been having a bit of wrist pain it's not bad, but it's not good either lol! I was just wondering what is good to take to strengthen up the joint or how to get rid of this pain? I'm not sure what it is but it only lasts for a day or two at the max and subsides till I use dumbells again! Also I'm not on a multi or fish oil or anything like that same for my brother!

Thanks guys any help appreciated.

if I want to know something I google at Poliquins web side...he is the man :)

I would assume its because of curls?

generally I use fat grips, a) less pain b) more muscle recruitment c) you need to lower the weight...so not good for the meat heads and pl with big ego's...

I never really care about weights, I want to get bigger not stronger and form is getting important when you get older ;)

I use a weight I'm comfortable with, but not from curls more from incline db press it hurts a little but goes away, also from dips man, it hurts a bit and goes away but when I do cable cross overs I do push-ups right after which destroy them? It's only on chest day, no other day :P, I'm using correct form. It all started from when I was doing tree-lopping like a month ago I was being foolish and was throwing 30kg stumps like it was nothing, maybe that is what aggravated it?

i hope you aren't wearing gloves or straps first off as that will weaken your wrist and forearms.

also you younger guys (i'm guessing you are young) have a lot of imbalances that you have to work through to improve.. this is due to your poor training habits and inconsistencies (working out 1 muscle group more than another)..

these types of nagging injuries are common with newbs.. just learn to listen to your body and if it hurts then STOP. don't keep hammering away

I just looked up your posts and you are 19. since when does anybody under 21 post in the AAS forum ?

you don't need to be in this forum right now with the big boys. stick to the sub forums!! they are there for a reason

Hey man thanks for replying, I didn't know where to post to be honest, so I just posted here sorry for that, I know I have some out of proportion muscles but not by much man, also been training on and off for about 2-3 years I know what I'm doing proper form and all, I'm not all over the place, like some people I have pretty good symmetry to be honest (that's just my opinion anyway lol) also I'm always consistent with lifting and eating right, and just recently got into pretty good shape, so I'm happy about that :), I don't miss days on purpose or muscle days for any reason.

Any way got a little side track man, yes I admit sometimes I do hammer them, a little bit but not by much I it seems to just be on chest day, like I explained earlier I think it was from when me a my brother did treelopping for a few days and throwing around 30kg stumps like nothing, because it was after that day that my wrists will hurt a little, anyways what I'm wondering is can I take fish oil, krill oil and a multi to maybe strengthen it up? Any advice man is really appreciated.

Also no I have not tried warming it up.

Thanks Bros for replying!!

its a good idea to take a multi like medivin which has fish oil included.

however in your particular situation form is much more important and learning to listen to your body.. you are extremely young and you don't want to damage your tendons/ligaments/joints at such a young age

this isn't something that happens overnight and there isn't something you can magically take that will help you instantly without having long term negative affects like cortisone shots or something crazy like that

Ok man thanks for the advice should I just try to avoid using my wrists as much as possible for a week or 2 and see how that plays out? Also can you link me to the multi?

Had some similar issues, highly recommend Grizzly Fitness wrist guards, inexpensive at under $15 and very good at stabilizing and preventing further injury...

that will only make your problem worse, it will NOT solve it.

you must fix the underlying problem, all you are doing here is putting a band aid on it.. wrist guards, straps, gloves.. those all should be avoided if you want strong hands and wrists.

these big guys you see walking around with gloves and wraps if they were to take them off and try to workout they would be so weak its pathetic.. I bet they wouldn't even be able to open up a jar

It seems to be getting better that's good, but there's still pain there mAybe for an hour or 2 is it normal? Or should I go light next week?

Trying taking a decent strength joint formula, a mix of msm, chondrotin and glucosamine. Aim for one that's 1500mg or more. Take this daily and should feel it within the joints in weeks, I personally found fish oil and vitamin d assisted my joint issues as well so there's other options.

Yeah I am kind of leaning towards the fish oil and vitamin d as I have read that helps I'll try that out and let you know!

Yeah I personally take 5000iu vitamin d per day and fish oil generally depends on how body feels and would say I feel much better when supplementing these - good luck mate!
