I did a search on Google last night for Kazaa Lite and at the bottom of the page it said something to the affect that three search results were removed in accordance with some protection act. The firewall at work blocks out the results page otherwise I would post the exact error this morning. Has anyone else seen this? How long has it been like that? Where will it stop? Pretty scary to me.

Gonna have to get the kazaa lite off kazaa.. LOL

PM if you need copy. Dont know if mine is the newest version though

That's the error. WTF?

Funny that an Australian company can cite a U.S. law, ain't it? What's even funnier is that Google posted a copy of the complaint, as is their right:

RE: NOTICE OF COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

Ladies and Gentlemen:

We act on behalf of Sharman Networks, Ltd. (the "Owner").

As required under Sections 512(c)(3) and 512(d)(3) of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §§512(c)(3) and 512(d)(3)), we are instructed to place you on notice that:

1. The Owner is the exclusive owner of the copyrights in and to the Kazaa Media Desktop software, the kazaa.com website and the text, artwork, logos and photographs appearing therein (singly and collectively, the "Kazaa Material"); and

2. Utilizing the search query, "kazaa," at www.google.com, the following search results and sponsored links (the "Infringing Material") contain unauthorized copies of the Kazaa Material or unauthorized derivative works of the Kazaa Material which infringe the Kazaa Material and the exclusive rights of the Owner:

And a bunch of URL's are then listed for your cut-and-paste loving.

In other words, Kazaa sez "Google, you can't show these links." And Google sez "Okay, we won't. We'll just show your letter instead. Oh, gee, all those URL's you told us not to list are in your letter. Oopsie."

Just did a search for kazaa lite, and the first 2 replies were totally bullshit! They asked for money, when the real kazaa is free. Google is starting to suck ass.

Go to Google, type in "miserable failure" and hit "I'm feelin lucky" button.

kazzaa lite (and ++) has been discontinued, so you aren't going to find it on a site that is related to Kazaa.

Which means that you will then find it on some other site, which means that you can no longer trust that it isn't a trojaned file.

In the end, just use one of the other sharing programs, or buy from one of the 8 billion competing online music services like Coke's, or Apple's, or MusicMatch, or Napster, or the new Kazaa, etc.

In the end, they will all buy each other or go under until there are two or three left.
Until then, you will see prices per song drop.

my free k++ still works fine

Right, and it would, because you downloaded the client prior to their discontinuing it.

So you can still connect to all of those that also still have clients.

But since the client no longer exists, those that don't have it can't get it unless they find a place that has the installer up for them - someone that isn't Kazaa.

then I pointed out that something that is already notorious for having trojans being hosted on someone else's site is increasing your chance at getting a trojan.

I swear to god I either must talk in another language or everyone in the world is retarded.

Speak English.

The client for Kazaa Lite ++ (and all of the Kazaas), in terms of file sharing, is totally independant of any single server (that was the Napster model and it got them in trouble).
The whole point of P2P is distributed content and network load.

Meaning, once you have the client, you have access to the system of everyone else that has the client.

Therefore, anyone that also has the client, regardless if Kazaa goes under or starts going by the name "Whamo", you will be able to share files back and forth.

Similar in the way if someone posted on here that they went to a Ferrari factory and wanted to get a 355, but they couldn't find them and heard that they were no longer making them.
I'm sure someone would post up on here and say "no way! I own a 355!"

I need to stop reading posts and spend more time touching my balls.
