Ouchieee My Hands Hurt

Hi Ladies just wondering if you could recomend a good set of weight gloves.
I wore out my last pair so I have not been usuing them.
I have some baby calliouses that are really starting to hurt when they rub against the bars and stuff.

Thanks CC:D

I use a fingerless mechanics glove and love them. Snap-on tool dealers carry them or you can check an auto parts store. I don't think you can wear them out.

:lmao: Lots of ppl think only wussies wear gloves & all you need is a bit of chalk. Well, I've felt the hands of my friend who rows competitively & lifts a lot -never wearing gloves, & it is NOT sexy!

I have a pair by Harbinger - DO NOT buy that brand! they stink. WAY too thin padding. I still get some baby calluses. My hands also slide around within them (even though they're not too big) when I do push-ups. They started to fray on the pinky too the first week. :( Gotta get another pair, I'm thinking anything must be better.

Hey - screw you people. I am a wus and proud of it!!!!!!!!!
Actually I am a sculptor and callouses put dents in the clay where I don't want them so I have a financial interest in wearing gloves (how was that for a creative excuse).

The reason I wear gloves is not because I'm not tough enough (anyone who reads the sheets knows that this lady is NOT afraid of pain!)

I wear them because I want my hands to be soft. Seriously, the touch of a rough hand on tender areas is NOT PLEASANT.

My biceps, quads, & ass should be rock hard, but my hands, face, & hair should be soft & smooth. I know I'm not alone in that desire. I don't think it has anything to do with being tough.

TheProject and I frequently hold up our cracked, chalky, squished up hands after deadlifts and compare callous size. I WIN! :lmao:

Nothing like having a hot sexy female give u a full body massage and feel those scratchy man craters on her hands..

I wouldn't know...I'm always the one getting massaged. :)

Haven't you ever heard it's better to give than to receive.

:lmao:

Nope...no need to bring paperwork into it. No complaints here:)

I've got 3 pairs that I rotate around w/ depending on what muscle group it is. I prefer extra pad for chest day, something that my straps will fit around on back day and leg day I just need something so I dont' slip when I'm leveraging myself in & out of some of those wild leg machines. I also like something that can survive the washer since they get extra funky after a few weeks. (I'm one of those chicks who *sweats*, not "glows", in the gym...)

I used to be part of the "good ol' boys club" where we would compare callouses at the end of every month. Most of the guys would wear gloves, but it was sort of a "bigger dick" thing to have the most ripped out gloves. I'm proud to say that based on the condition of my gloves & my hands I was sporting a VERY nice "package".

BUT, now that I'm a member of professional society, the callous look doesn't make a big impression when I'm shaking hands w/ the CEO, so I opt for rotating gloves. I'll let my 15" biceps do the "bigger dick" talking for me ;c)

When "dick" talks, people listen ;)

And no one makes comments about me trying to make up for "other short comings".... ;)

If you were going to wear gloves...I would suggest some that were very tight and thin...almost just like a second layer of skin. (ouch, that hurt to even talk about gloves).

Night Fly does not have super soft hands, neither does Jill Mills...not even close. I love it. Both of those ladies love weights...BIG weights and you are not going to be using BIG weights while you wear gloves.

My hands look nice and rough...

My wife seems to disagree with you. No complaints in more than 20 years.

I am proud of my callouses! But I do use Harbinger gloves for pressing movements, especially bench press. The bar pushing on my hands makes them ache so I appreciate even a little bit of cushioning on the palms. I've had my Harbingers for quite a while and really like them, no problems.

I bought the Harbinger gloves this weekend
Do they have enough padding at the fingers? Lemme know if they fray - mine did the first week!

Arioch - ok, good point - but there are kinda different rules for men & women. Women are sorta expected to be softer than men - we're also supposed to have pretty hands. Lucky men don't have to deal with painting fingernails!

Much as it pains me to be agreeing with NYM on something!

Anyway, you ladies have it easy in terms of callouses, imagine cutting a certain part of your body while doing a certain something to that certain part of your body (wink wink)... lol yeah sucks eh?

NYM.... OMG are you saying your callouses are so rough you cut your Private Part with them???

Hey Gladiola I will let you know If the fray on me.
