Other "Life-Changing" Books???

the tuesdays with morrie thread got me thinking...yes, i read it, yes it was a powerful little book...yes, i cried...i'm a crier...hold me...

other books that i think are recommended reading for most people:

a prayer for owen meany by john irving
siddhartha by herman hesse
a confederacy of dunces by john kennedy o'toole
zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance by pirsig
my name is asher lev by chaim potok
jitterbug perfume by tom robbins
lonesome dove by larry mcmurtry
sometimes a great notion by ken kesey

if you like weird, dark, nihilistic shit, read some chuck pahlaniuk (he wrote fight club)...his books leave a bad taste in my mouth but i can't ever put them down...

name some of your favorites....

Green Eggs and Ham, Horton Hears a Who and Jesus Lived in Inida.

Who moved my cheese

The Prayer of Jabez

Green Eggs and Ham is a must read

The Celestine Prophecy

That book will change the way you look at the world for about two weeks, until you forget all of it.

The End of Modern Philosophy

Ludwig Wittgenstein "Philosophical Investigations" -- it makes modern philosophy seem foolish. A great book for pretentiously refuting someone's stupid, unanswerable philosophical question, i.e. "do we have a free will?"

When i travelled to Greece many years ago, i visited my grandmothers village. She wrote a diary during the German invasion and occupation of WW2. It details how she hid herself and her 5 children high in the mountains constantly moving to escape the germans in trecherous conditions with little food. Moving and inspiring.
