I remember reading about it here on Elite. That's about all I remember about that day. I wasn't affected by the blackout, which is probably why I don't remember much of that day.

I do remember what my boyfriend was doing. Probably because he was affected by it.

that night is honestly one of my favorite nights of my life

i was at my girlfriend's place who lives in the Beaches area of Toronto, we were walking her dog down the street, and everyone was just chilling on their porches by candle light.. all the restaurants on the main strip were open (gas powered) and all the tables were candle lit.. there were people everywhere just relaxing making the best of the situation, and you could see every star in the sky.

then we had sex pretty much until the sun came up haha.

I was in another country, so it didn't have any impact on my day to day life.

didn't affect me at all really, but my sister was working in Manhatten, so she started walking home to Brooklyn, but her boyfriend who is a great guy, drove in to manhatten and picked her up. so, she made it out ok. I'm sure it was rather nerve racking not knowing what the situation was though.

I awoke in a ball, naked, ala the opening scene from the Terminator. Oh, and a hummingbird mistook my pee-pee for a feeder and tried to use its sucker to drain my nuts.

dealing with california's own power issues. I think our electricity bill for that month was like $650

LOL... i remember the day well..
i was home... and wondered if i had paid the electric bill.
I went outside and saw my whole street was out.
Went to the grocery store and listened to the news on the way - and found out it was happening everywhere. At the grocery store, everyone was saying it must be the whole town.. i was telling the people on line- ITS THE WHOLE DAMN STATE.
