Olympia 2005

I'm leaving tomorrow. This should be the best Mr. O yet. Everyone has trimmed down. Let's see if the judges hold up the memo that was sent out about GH guts. I've heard that Jay looks incredible. He has the same conditioning from 2001, but he's bigger. Of course everything can change on game day. Who do you guys think will take it? Is anyone else going? Holla at ya boy... ;)

What's up Mak! Two girls from my gym (who are personal trainers and competitive bb'ers) are gonna be there. I wish I could be there. Do you think anyone can touch Ronnie? He guest posed at the Arkansas, I was in the pump room with him because he went out after my class. That is one big mama jama, looked better than he did the last 2 years I had seen him. I don't think anyone can beat him. It would be nice to atleast have some drama to cause a stir just for the sake of the sport.

1st- Coleman
2nd- Cutler
3rd- Cormier
:Chef: :tuc:

a head of security at another club i know was in the battle of the biceps competition or sumthign like that yesterday... but hes going, and i hope he is takin some pics!
i hope Jay wins it...

No. I'm staying at the Frontier. It's cheap and the rooms are big. I'm going to Pre Judging. I'll know who won after that.

The memo that was sent out stated that they will judge according to the classical physiques with a V taper and a tigher midsection. In other words, no bloated abs.

Silver, why aren't you coming out brotha?

Sword, I thought you were going this year.

Do you really think they'll enforce it? :worried:

If I could afford it I would definitely be there! I am gonna try to go next year. I have a feeling the "tighter midsection" look will only affect the lower placings, maybe the 6th place and down. It will be interesting to see.

I doubt it. Apparently Ronnie has trimmed down this year. He supossedly has the look from the 98 and 99 O. His best look IMO. If he looks like that then I'll have no problem with him taking it. I love Ronnie for his work ethic, but the last 4 years I didn't like his physique. I would like to see Jay take it, but if Ronnie looks like he used to it's over. Ronnie's shape is just better than Jay's and he's the reigning Mr. O. We all know that if it's close, like in 2001, Ronnie will get the nod. Remember that? Jay is ahead after the first 2 rounds, which are really the only ones that count, and the Ronnie pulls it off in the posing round??? WTF is that??? :worried: . Must have been when he did the splits... ;)

We'll have to meet up next year then. Yeah, I agree. I don't see them knocking any of the stars out of the top five.

If they enforce the memo it will if nobody listened and still brought their size game. Well next year Sword. I'm curious to see if Dennis James still comes in with a bloated gut like he did at the Charlotte.

Do you guys ever listen to the Bodybuilding Radio show?
Ronnie was the guest last week and he said Jay is smokin' crack if he thinks he's gonna beat him this year. :Chef: :tuc:

If Cutler doesn't do it this year, he may as well ease off until Ronnie retires before he tries again. Its "Do or Die" for Jay this time around, but he's definitely got a fantastic chance

I agree, but he can't do that regardless of what happens. It would hurt his career and I doubt Muscle Tech would allow that. He has to keep his fans.

if jay doesn't win this year he won't win until ronnie retires. jay was supposed to be lookin shredded. i really hope jay wins. im tired of colman's nasty gut. has anyone heard their interviews on pro bodybuilding weekly. gunter was looking realy good last time i saw him too. he says he is going to win but i think he said that last year to.

Yeah Gunter said that last year too. He's just talking shit like Arnold used. The only problem is Gunter doesn't dominate like Arnold used to. I don't think he has any chance at beating Ronnie, Jay, et al.

Ronny was a special guest at this years Natural Michigan Championship. He did a pose session on stage for the crowd. The guy is FUCKING HUGE, but was obviously extremely bloated. That was in July so I am sure is he is shredded now.

Hell yeah! I agree, I don't think any of the big names will be affected. I hope I'm wrong.

I think the biggest changes will be from 7th place down. I hope I'm wrong too.

Ronnie will win, big gut or not. Though I can't see how you can really reverse the gut.

If you reduce the amount of GH that you're using over time it will go down. How much it will go down will be seen. I'll keep you guys posted. Nobody is posting pics on the internet. Last year everyone was showing off, this year nobody.

slyder190 said:
There's a pic and signature of Ronnie on every Jino Kit.

LMFAO! That would be great for biz. Can you imagine how many 18 year old guys would be scrambling to use Jino GH, cause that's what Ronnie uses. They wouldn't be able to keep up with demand.

Dont mean to, but i have two Mr O tickets that I cant use if anyone is intrested.

1st Ronnie
2nd Jay
3rd Chris

Try ebay. I agree on the placings. It could definitely go down like that.

Mak do you think Branch has a chance of craking the posedown this year if he shows up as good or better than Charlotte?

Yeah. He has presented a great package these last 2 shows. I think that will be a real test for the new mandate. If he makes the top 5, then they are enforcing it. If he places out of the top 10, then there's your answer... . I haven't seen him stand next to Jay or Ronnie, so the size thing could kill him. But as far as symmetry, proportion, muscularity, and conditioning, he's tough to beat.

I really like what he presented at those two shows. I would love to see Jay take it but that will be tough. I hope Chris comes in good because he will be guest posing at my gym's show on the 29th.

If Chris can nail his conditioning he could take it all. He has the best frame and shape of anyone. He has never nailed the O, only the Arnold.

I don't think Gunter and Marcus should be top 5. If Gustavo brings his waist down in size he may get top 3 again, especailly with his conditioning. If Chris had Gustavo's conditioning he would be incredible. I'd like to see Branch, Melvin, and Victor make top 5. I'd take Melvin's physique over Ronnie and Jay's any day.

I totally agree, I was backstage with him at a show a few years ago, he looked refreakin'diculous. His shape and symmetry made Ronnie look like a powerlifter (which he kind of is). Everything on him was full and round (didn't see his nuts though).

Ronnie also claimed he wasn't worried about Jay in 2001, despite the fact that Jay was actually ahead until the final round - posing.

Does anyone know what PPV networks are carrying this in the Boston area? I can't find it listed anywhere but the web site claims that PPV is carrying it @ 10pm?????? :worried:

Here is the results of the mr O since '65...as you can plainly see, the same person wins yr in and out. Except for the early '80's, their is no variation in winner from year to year...can you imagine a NFL team winning 7 Super Bowls in a row like Ronnie has won 78 mr.o's in a row...or a NBA team winning 8 titles in a row like haney wone 8 mr. o's. Not very "sporting" if you ask me

One difference is that in the other sports you have to go through a season and playoffs each year. Ronnie has a major advantage of only having to do the O each year. But BB is not like other sports.

Look at these arms. Cutler doesn't have this vascularity yet.

...I have Direct TV and STILL can't find a listing for it!

I got to hope for Ronnie just because we are from the same area. But in a way would like to see someone new win for once.

pro bodybuilding is like pro wrestling. whole show is predetirmined way before these guys even start their cutting 20 weeks out

I like the top 5, except for Gunter. How did Melvin place out of the top 5, but Gunter made it? I was happy to see Victor nail his conditioning. He's the future of BB.

If Ronnie retires, or gets beat next year, Jay is the most ready to step into the O crown. But I agree Victor in a few years can win it time and time again if he gets everything together.

Jay will take it when Ronnie retires, but Victor is the biggest threat to Jay's reign. His problem is consistency. He nailed the O, but let's see if he can repeat at the Arnold.

I think guys like Victor, Priest, Dexter, might be better served to concentrate on the Arnold and wait till Ronnie packs it in before hitting the O up the way it is run. It's funny that you said the O wasn't run well, must be an epidemic in BB. I was a friend's show on Sat that started over an hour late.

The Arnold is the best run show. An hour isn't too bad. I've had guys in shows where they didn't get on stage for prejudging until 3 P.M... :worried:

Oh my! 3pm WTF how do you time out your meals with that shit. THe worst one I did started an hour late at 12pm ran untill after 5pm then the night show started at 6pm and went to after 12am. THey had so many competitors and did not drop the 60 second routine in the morning. I'm lucky because most of the shows in Jersey use Steve Stone's crew to expidite, he get's the show going on time and running smoothly for the most part.

I was running around trying to keep everyone tight. It was exhausting. The women didn't finish until 6:30. They had to delay the night show.
