old Waxy Maize

how long does it take waxy maize to go bad?

i have some in a container that has been in there for about 3 months. is it safe to use?

I dont think 3 months ia long at all for a powder.

It's fine. It could sit in a cold dry room for 10 years and be consumed and not hurt you. You can store wheat flour for many many years. Waxy maize wouldn't be any different.

I have no experience with waxy maize but it is my understanding that white flours do not have the nutrients to sustain bacteria growth, and waxy maize not being a a whole grain (with vitamins and aa's correct me if I'm wrong)it shouldn't go bad either. I would imagine whole grain flower could go bad if very moist, either through bacterial or mycotic infection.

In my younger dumber days I did in fact grow some trippy shrooms on whole wheat flour!
