Simple Rules For Sound Health And Longevity

-Moderation.
Do not overload your stomach. It’s not a garbage can.

-Forget the clock. Eat one or a half a dozen small meals a day…but only when you are hungry.

-Fast at least one day a week. Rest your bodily machinery and double its life.

-Drink pure water in sufficient amounts.

-AVOID:
-Constipating, mucous- producing foods, sugar and bleached flour products, greasy and junk foods; The heart killers: fatty foods, consumption of red meats and egg yolks to excess; Fats, sugar, and bleached-flour products, salt, coffee, tea, preservatives and denatured foods.

-EAT:
-A generous daily diet of raw fruits and vegetables which have been well washed; Nonfat dairy products, fish, poultry; any red meat should be lean; A daily amount of roughage for digestion: raw fruits and stalk vegetables, whole grains, bran.

-Move your bowels at least once a day.

-Use a good vitamin supplement.

-Daily exercise after a warm-up. Slow, steady progress.

Egg yolks won't kill you - they don't have any saturated fats and the cholestrol that everybody raves on about can't even be absorbed by the body.

Can't say I agree with the fasting idea - what scientific evidence could even come close to supporting that?

The amount of food and frequency at which you consume it needs to be dictated by the clock for many individuals. Those who don't have the appetites necessary to eat sufficiently to gain muscle are the best example, but I can't think of any type of person who wouldn't benefit from properly timed and measured eating.

I agree with where the author's coming from. It's a great spring board for most Americans. My critique:

Well I for one must "overload" my stomach to gain weight. And if I waited till I felt hungry I would sometimes go 6-8 hrs between meals (and indeed did in pre BB days).

Fasting??? - I dunno on that one, probably NOT weekly.

Drinking lots of water and eating fruits & veges, nonfat dairy products, fish, poultry and whole grains is always sound advice.

Moderation of fatty foods, red meats, egg yolks, sugar, bleached-flour products, salt, coffee, tea, preservatives and denatured foods is a good idea as well.Move your bowels at least once a day.

A good vitamin supplement is a must.

Exercise? - maybe not daily. Slow, steady progress - definitely!
