Since I live in Bermuda, if I buy anything online, it will trigger a fraud action on my card.
Because I have had to deal with this in the past, this time I figured I would show them and call the credit card company ahead of time and make sure they were aware of it all.
I live here, but I am having it shipped to NYC. It doesn't sound complicated.
I called Apple, put through the order - yay! But "Sedge" said that my address now made their computer frumpy, so he asked for my most recent USA address, and that got the order through - yaay!
Then I got an e-mail and a phone call (a theoretical phone call where my cell phone rang and then hung up on me when I tried to answer it, and then no voice mail) from Apple saying "holy shitballs Batman, your credit card info is all wrong."
So I called the CC company and they were like "no bro, it is all totally chill - rock on with your bad self and thanks so much for calling" (well, first time I called they "transferred" me which meant that the woman hung up on me - that was pretty cool).
So I called Apple and they then put me on hold and called the CC company - then came back and said nope, I am still a bad person.
So I called the CC company back and they put me on hold - Monty Python's theme music was kicking in all of its marching band splendor and eventually they came back and told me to quit calling, everthing was cool in the system - but I was all like "no way, Apple says I suck".
So the girl called Apple and then we had a 3 way conference... which entailed her calling them and talking to them, then her talking to me, then me talking to them, and then Apple hanging up - no 3-way action at all...
The Apple girl - even though she had just been on the phone with the CC company that had called her then wanted me to explain what was going on, and then she put me on hold and called the CC company back.
After more holding and newer, hipper music, she finally came back and said that things seemed okay.
My phone bill is gonna be awesome.
