Ok tech people need some help - XP

Ok guys - I need some XP/computer help - For some reason lately I can not delete or modify any files - Case in point . IF i download say a music file and save it to drive or the desktop it saves fine. If I double click on the file to open or listen to it - the files opens fine - But if I click once to say then click delete or right click to delete/copy/move the computer will freeze - its freezes or hangs for say around 20-30 seconds and then screen clears desktop refreshes and I am back to square one Please help me out!!

I have XP

Did the whole Xp2 thing or whatever couple weeks back - Runing McAfee 7.1 Enterprise Version up to date

sounds to me that your are trying to delete/copy/move very large files. I would recommend checking your hard drive space, defrag, delete uneccessary files.

svchost.exe problems? I ran into that about a week ago, reformatted. I never figured out if it was fucked drivers or a virus. Can you even open folders?

Yes can open folders fine - That svchost.exe programs runs pretty high in the task manager list - Please dont tell me I have to reformat - Ran the anti-virus and everything seems fine

are you trying to delete the file that you JUSt played in a media player? Is it saying file in use or something?

No - say I download a word file or something and save to my desktop - Ok then say like three days later I want to view the file, I double click and the file opens. Now say I want to delete that file - no go. When I highlight the icon then press delete the computer freezes or say I highlight the icon and try to right click the desktop freezes or hangs up
