Who you going to vote for?

I haven't got a clue. I generally go Liberal but Martin has really disappointed me since coming into office he hasn't done shit.

Flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Aaaaaaaaaames !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here is my general rule

Fed election Liberals-generally assholes but I liked frenchie who just retired, conservatives I wouldnt trust to run a country they are a bit slow on the federal level

Provincial- conservative they actually get work done not like Mcqunity who keeps raping us left and right with all kinds of taxes

liberal for federal - the Canadian Alliance always seemed sketchy, and they fused into the PCs. Paul Martin I think is the better of two evils.
unsure about provincial

It's the same every election. The liberal hippie who caters most to the immigrants wins.

It's why Canada is a socialist disaster area.

I so wish we had the governments of Europe. They are competent, streamlined, partisan, conservative, truly care about the people, fuck any foreigner who doesn't bring anything to the table, force people to get off their keisters and do something, and have zero tolerance to criminals. This liberal faggot bastion trend everywhere is disgusting. Cater to everyone who cries and bitches and whines.

I don't vote. Frankly, I feel that I'm above the whole process. I think I should be appointed King of the World and that should be the end of it.

I don't like the new Conservative Alliance or whatever they're called. From what I have seen of their platform, they disturb me. I had some respect for Paul Martin during his tenure as the Finance Minister until the sponsorship scandal blew up and he denied all knowledge. You were the Finance Minister and essentially had responsibility for every Federal dollar and you didn't know? Bullshit, that's your job! Needless to say, I will not be voting for Paul Martin.

I voted NDP in the last election and I see no reason to change my vote now.

Razor no holding back tell us how you really feel? :lmao:

Are you still eligible to vote here or a you a full American citizen?

For Provincial politics I vote Conservative but will vote Liberal again in the federal election as the New Conservative Party scares me and don't seem right and are all over the map depending on who is speaking, they might be a united party but inside it there is still 2 factions

The NDP would destroy the country like they are doing to my province once again and it would be a cold day in hell before I ever voted for them. My neighbourhood has been NDP for over 20 years and I think I might put up a red sign just to piss some people off ;)

Given the choice of the 3 I am sticking with a known evil.

Wouldn't you have to have an army for that?

Are you saying your war monger in the Oval Office didn't ask? He seemed quite upset by our independance when we refused to endorse an illegal war that had nothing to do with the war on terror.....

We don't have much of an army but neither do many of the U.S. patsies that kowtowed to Ayatollah Bush and either endorsed or directly participated in Iraq.....what he terms the 'coalition forces' (sic)......

This seems to be a common sentiment in regards to politics which is very sad.

Well I also look at it this way, scandal or no scandal, our economy is the best its ever been over the last 10 years and that is more due to Martin when he was Finance Minister then anything else. This was the first time our economy didn't dive along with the US's as is usually the case. While they were having trouble ours kept growing which says a lot.

There has always been kickbacks and shit like that happening so you gotta look at the bigger picture. The Conservatives and NDP don't have much to offer.

I have to agree that Martin did a great job as Finance Minster however it is one thing to take care of the money and another to take care of a whole country. How many companies would let there CFO become their CEO? People that deal in money often lack vision and creativity.

Seashell gets it.

You're just being cranky.

Finance Minister is a lot tougher task then PM. The key to a PM is surrounding yourself with good people. That is what Chretien did, he wouldn't have been as successful as he was if he hadn't hand picked Martin to be Finance Minister. That is why the party wanted Paul Martin as leader years ago and then Chretien stayed to spite the party, they knew that he was one of the main reasons for thier success.

My only knock on Martin is that he will kiss ass to much to Bush unlike Chretien who said screw you.

Dawgy I guess we will just have to see. Do to voter apathy and the lack of any better choice I am sure Martin will stay PM. The question is will it be a minority government? And if is will that be a good thing or a bad thing?

I am betting it will be a majority again. Minority govs make it very tough to get anything substantial done as everyone wants to push their own agenda.

PARTISAN SUMMARY
If you want a minority government , vote anything but Liberal or Conservative.
If you don’t want the Corporations to write our laws then vote NDP.
If you want corporations to pay a bigger share of taxes vote NDP
If you want proportional representation vote NDP
If you want Public Health Care without more privatization, vote NDP.
Don’t vote Conservative!

I want no part of any Federal Govt that gives NDP any power! Worst party ever and its policies are from the 50's.

Brian Mulroney and Mike Harris are supporting the Conservatives.

In 1989, we got Free Trade because Brian M. supported the corporations against the will of Canadians. He also packed the Senate with his friends.

M. Harris gave tax cuts to corporations and the rich.

In 1993, we got the GST because J. Chretien & P. Martin lied.

In 1995, Paul Martin gave the rich the biggest tax cuts in history, but Mr. Harper wants more.

In 2004, the Liberals have so many corporate friends, they create a sponsorship scandal.

Big Corporations are powerful, with lots of money, they make friends with our politicians and get the legislation they want. Their opinions should not be taken as seriously as the opinions of citizens, but we have mistakenly given them some of the rights of persons, even though they are NOT persons. ( Persons die while corporations merge and go on for generations; persons have goals like peace, love, justice etc - the corporate goal is simply to make money.) Big corporations fund either the Liberals or the Conservatives, but never the NDP.

Hey no matter how much people bitched back then about free trade it has turned out to be the best thing and is one of the reasons that our economy is what it is. Of cousre there were a lot of negatives but more positives have come out of it.

NDP does not have the brains to do well Federally and it would never work, why else do you think they have been 3rd party fodder forever. They would spend our country into oblivion just like my province now and others.

Dont kid yourself there have been money scandals in every gov't since the begging of time. Govt always payback those who helped them. Its wrong yes, but is part of politics.

No one supports NDP as they are a party who's time was 50 years ago. Look at thier demographic, mostly old agers and very few young people, there is a reason for this.

Many Canadians have decided that it is time for Canada to study "proportional representation"as a means of improving the process of electing politicians, because Canada is one of the last couple of democracies which still allows a party with only 40% (or less) of the popular vote, to grab 60% (or more) of the seats in Parliament. (More info - www.fairvotecanada.org) The governments of BC, Quebec, Ontario, and PEI have all started on a process of study.

The NDP have promised to push for such a study.

Paul Martin said that proportional representation would often result in a minority government and this would likely be a bad thing.

I hear what you're saying Dawg but I think they have or support a lot of good ideas. They aren't your fathers NDP anymore :)

Plus the leader is an idiot and bad Canadian! He called Darryl Sutter Darryl Sittler yesterday. Now any good Cdn knows his hockey and the difference so this disqualifies him as a good leader LOL.

We're gonna end up with a PC / NDP minority government unless the polls change a helluva lot in the next little while.

nah the NDP won't get much seats, the Bloc in Que will have to be part of it with either the PC's or Liberals.

The PC will get Ont and the Bloc will get Que.
