Ohhhh yeah. Finally caught a break.

Past six months I have been busting my ass fighting the financial aid office for help and trying to prove I have no outside assistance from my parents or anyone else.

Finally, FINALLY I came home to a Pellgrant check waiting for me on the table.

This is the turning point baby, I can now pay for a Personal Trainer Ceritification and try to get out of my shitty job, this alone will help me become comfortable on my own.

My car is now going to be completely paid off, and I no longer have to limit myself to 20 dollars a week for food.

I get to buy some fucking clothes finally too, been wearing the same god damn shoes for as long as I can remember, and I'm wearing the same XL shirts I wore at 250, when I'm 190 right now.

Just thought I'd share, about fucking time something decent happened. :)

20 dollars a week for food? what the fuck have you been eating?
cat food?

Tuna, Oats, Chicken Breasts.

I work in a deli so I gank food from there for lunch alot too.

nice... i need to apply. I've been paying my own way last 4 yrs... but never gotten any aid... will they give you "back pay" ? :P

Congrats man.
Do you have a co-op program at your university? (work 4 months and study 4 months on an alternating cycle - I think that can be quite lucrative). I know people who have done it and they didn't have to rely, heavily if at all, on financial aid/loans.

They might for an earlier semester in a year, definitely not for back years.

Dragon - I would do that but it doesn't pay enough cash here.

the downside of eating cat food is that it is heavily supplemented with vitamin A since cats don't produce any of that on their own and therefore have to rely entirely on their diet to supply it.

since humans in fact can make their own vitamin A from their own diet, eating the additional vitamin A in the cat food can be dangerous as it builds up in the system.

that said, cat food is crunchy, albeit slightly chalky.

that's just what I was thinking, but I didn't say anything because I figured not that many people would be into eating it.

cheers!

Is this retroactive from the date of filing? If not, see an attorney (free) to sue for your last 6 months of unpaid funds.

I finally just give up on trying to get a grant. I'm going to have about 20 to 25 thousand in loans to pay back in a couple years.

Take the loans and then go bankrupt right after you get out. 3 years of not being able to get credit cards compared to 5-7 years of paying them back...

It's the american way :)
