i am probably too lazy to look it up, but how do you get to have an avatar? and also, where did all the karma go? I must be ticking off people with my questions/answers... i never get karma.. i hate to resort to begging... hehe

here's more:

when you give karma does it take from your karma or do you keep your karma total and get "new" karma to give out? (this is prolly a stupid question)

also, how do you know how much karma you have (like a number, not just the little stars/squares whatever)..
