nuking chicken...

Hi Folks
I am in dire straits and turn to you again for your wisdom...this time for microwave ideas..
I've just become a student again and staying in residence I notice all we have is a functional microwave and a canteen hall full of junk so obviously I'm going to have to make my own food but with a microwave??

Anyone have any quick easy recipes for chicken breasts I can use?

Here's one I have been using for now
4 chicken breasts nuked for 6 minutes on high heat
Add salt pepper and crushed chillies and serve!

Any better ideas?

and to be honest it's very embarrasing eating chicken breasts on their own during lunch when everyone else is eating proper meals ( i.e carb fests)..what do you guys do? I'm not allowed to eat during lectures either so there's no hiding it!

Grin and keep eating my protein pancakes, knowing I already look and feel better than pretty much everybody in the room, and I'm just getting started?

Seriously, my classmates all give me shit when I break out my meals in anatomy, but it's all in jest. :D

Unfortunately, I can't think of a whole lot you could do with chicken in a microwave by itself. If you can manage any access to an oven, cook a ton, freeze them all, and nuke them as needed.. but you seem to not have that option?

Having people ridicule and laugh at your meals is part of the bodybuilding lifestyle. It comes with the territory, so just learn to deal with it. I used to get alot of shit from my friends and co-workers whenever they saw what I ate. They'd joke about my tuna, and would shake their heads in disbelief when I turned down pizza or cake.

So to the hell with everyone else, keep eating those breasts.

AMEN to that, brother. Poeple at work look at me like I have 5 heads when I eat oatmeal for my late afternoon "snack." People make fun of me and tell me that "you are gonna live forever..." when I drink a protein shake at snack time.

One time, this lady asked me while I was making my whey shake, "oh, are you still ON THAT?" I was like "I am not ON anything." She got the hint and appologize that "oh, i don't mean anything bad, and I was just referring to the shake"

I agree w/ Haz, u just have to learn to deal w/ it. PERIOD.

For frozen ones, start with 5 minutes @ 50% power. Add 1 minute @ 50% untill you get what your looking for. Every micro is a little different, so you have to experiment a little.

You guys dont eat pizza and cake? Whats next, no soda?;)

I have the same thing. My family always feels guilty eating junk food around me so they try to get me to eat it with them. LOL. You just gotta understand that they dont understand.

Here are a couple suggestions:

-Try seasoning salt instead of regular salt for a change
-Lawrys
-Montreal Grill Steak/Chicken Seasoning **my fav
-Smother your chicken breast in salsa after cooking - kills the chicken taste. :-)
-Marinade your chicken before cooking
-Squeeze fresh lemon/lime on it; sprinkle w/ salt and pepper
-Buy prepared marinades - Lawrys lemon and pepper is good and low carb
-Get a Foreman grill - chicken tastes soooo much better

I have to admit that chicken grilled in an oven taste much better than in a microwave. What i do is add spices, herbs, garlic and some dijion mustars. And Viola, tasty breasts!
