Not too many carbs with your protein in the same meal

I've read this so many times everywhere. The reason is that to metabolize carbs your stomach need an base reaction and to metabolize protein it needs an acicdic reaction... combinig both on the same meal would neutrilize both and you would end up getting nothing from your meal
Magz always say DONT EAT TOO MANY CARBS ON YOUR PROTEIN MEAL. But they never say how much is TOO MANY

Now my question is up to how many carbs is it ok to consume with your protein to avoiding this problem.?

im sceptical to be honest. metabolisation in the gut is done via enzymes.....protein enzymes in the stomach require an acidic environment to work well, but i donrt see how carbs could effect that. and i dont think the enzymes for carbs need base pH. also given others do the same and are big too, they cant be doing all that wrong

anyone else heard anything

I agree with you on this one. The only bad combination is a lot of carbs with a lot of fat in one meal -- protein is fine with either carbs or fats.
