"non-impact" carbs?

basically if something has 16 carbs, and 9 grams of dietary fiber, then those 9 g's are non-impact carbs... meaning your net impact carbs would be 7 grams. I'm just barely familiar with this so i'll probably get corrected.

Yes, you have it right ZKaudio...

"Non-impact" is a term that protein bar manufacturer's are fond of using. The claim is that sugar alcohols (e.g., malitol, maltitol, sorbitol, etc.,) don't raise insulin levels like sucrose/glucose do - and therefore shouldn't be "counted" as carbs.

Hence the name non-impact ----> because they (apparently) have very little impact on blood sugar levels.

little impact on insulin.... but "non-impact" carbs still have calories !

Additionally, they WILL reglycogenate the liver, and therefore knock you out of ketosis, if that's something you're trying to achieve.
