Nolvadex- Would It Help While Dieting Naturally???

Dan Duchaine swore that it would lean him & his clients out. Many breast cancer survivors would claim the opposite (they actually claim fat gain). I tend to lean in favor of Duchaine, it just makes sense from a scientific end, although there are those rare people in whom nolva seems to act as a regular estrogen.

arimidex would be the best bet for fat loss, but nolvadex would help somewhat since it would keep estrogenic fat from flaring up.

I was thinking about using 20mgs of Nolvadex a day. I'm guessing it will keep the estrogen in check, thus giving you a harder appearance. What do you think???

Similar to arimidex but not as good it would help you to get leaner while dieting. With arimidex though you get the added benefit of increased test levels since the extra test that usually aromatizes into estrogen remains as test or converts into the androgenic hormone dht. With nolvadex the aromatization process would still occur but would not be able to carry out it's negative effects in terms of increased water retension and possible increased fat gain since nolvadex competes with estrogen at the receptor.

There are a couple of mechanisms whereby tamoxifen might promote fat loss. Aside from the obvious one of elevating test levels, tamoxifen inhibits the activity of lipoprotein lipase (LPL), the enzyme responsible for cleaving glycerol from fatty acids and allowing the fats to enter adipocytes (1). Testosterone and beta agonists contribute to blocking fat uptake by inhibiting LPL as well.

Tamoxifen also increases levels of leptin, one of the so called "anti obesity hormones" (2).

Nolvadex is a mixed estrogen agonist/antagonist,so it blocks E/R's off in certain tissues but acts estrogenically in others.Personally,I'd use L-dex/anastrozole over it,but that's just me.I would rather lower my overall E populations rather than just prohibiting them from temporary binding to certain areas but being allowed to freely circulate through the system.Just my .02.
