No Carbs In The Evening?

How many people actually subscribe to the no carbs in the evenings myth for fat loss?
The theory being if you cut out carbs after 6-8pm you will lose more body fat. DC outlined this method in his DC training posts.
Anyone use this method with success?

It only makes sense to do that if you workout in the morning. If you workout in the evening like me, then I wouldn't recommend it.

i work out in the evening so i need some after my work out

right after i work out i have a 50 gram protein shake and a .5 cup of oats

I do something similar! I consume most of my carbs around my workout and for the rest of the day/night I eat protein/fat meals!

I have protein immediately upon waking up because my body's craving it. Then my next meal will be steel cut oats (thanks JKurz!). I'll take in a pre-workout shake (whey/water/no carbs) before I lift. Then immediately after hitting the weights I do another whey protein shake, this time with a bottle of Gatorade (140 cals-35 g carbs), and after that I keep my carb intake to a minimum. Seems to be working over just a couple weeks' time--I've lost a good amount of fat (didn't have much to begin with) and have been able to keep, if not add, muscle.

Your calorie intake depends on two things. What your goals are and when you train. I do cardio in the am and train at night, therefore my body is always craving for the proper nutirents. I switch to fiberous carbs after my pw shake, but I eat all the way up to 15 minutes before I crash....usually some veggies, roasted peanuts, and a thick casein shake............
