Me and my friends are arguing over who is the best RB in NFl. Here are your choices:

Priest Holmes
L. Tomilison
Ricky Williams
Ahman Green
Marshall Faulk
Deuce Mccalister.

Please help me clear this up.

I know scoring production is a big deal, but not the whole story...His line is far superior to a couple of others on that list

But its difficult to argue he is not the best..great vision and awareness.

When everyone's healthy, it goes like this:

1. Marshall Faulk
2. Marshall Faulk

3. Priest Holmes
4. Edgerrin James
5. Corey Dillon

Also, Ahman Green and McCallister shouldn't be on that list.

You asked who we thought the best rb was ...not who had the best line.......holmes did win the nfl best rb award :D

the others are very good also.....i think he is the best overall back though rushing and receiving

ricky williams cant catch a fucking cold...but a great power rusher
ahmad green fumbles a lot..overall one of the best
faulk off-year for him
Tomlinson very impressive year
mccalister proved he is a nfl back

Faulk, was my choice also, with Holmes 3rd...

Dillion definately deserves consideration, too bad he is on a shitty team.

EJ, no way, not right now..he isnt the half the RB was before the injury.

Ricky cant catch a cold??? About as far from the truth as can be...Jim Haslett began this propaganda..I live in NO and have watch him..He has EXCELLENT hands out the backfield, but does have fumbling problems..check his receiving stats and compare them to others..you will be very surprised.

Mccalister and Green are 2 of the most dynamic runner in the league.. Great Power and physicalness, great speed, and excellent hands...

EJ was out most of this season, unfortunately. On this season's merits he's not even on the top 30 list, but if he get back to old form, he's in the top 4.
Faulk is in his own world. He's mentioned that he's always looking at the 2nd and 3rd defenders when he's got the ball, because he knows the 1st guy is always going to miss. You watch him run and it happens play after play a lot like Emmitt used to do.

Oh yeah, Fred is one bad mofo...if he could every stay completely healthy for a couple years...

EJ looked very bad last year..it usually takes about 2 years to come back from that..

DEUCE SHOULDNT EVEN BE ON THAT LIST. PREIST IS THE BEST. RICKY WILL BE IN 2 YEARS.

The same can be said about Curtis Martin, Charlie Garner, Travis Henry, Tiki Barber (up to late December apparently), and a few other guys.

Since we're talking RBs, I think one of the craziest things is how Fred Taylor will get stuffed 4 or 5 straight playsand then break a 70 yarder. He seems to do it everytime I watch J-Ville play.

Yeah, Deuce has alot to prove still...but has a super scary size/speed ratio..he needs to stay out of the hooters on Vets or hell get too fat.

I think RW will be the most dominant RB in the league for the next 3 years....The last 8 game of this year he was fucking unstoppable....
he looked like jim brown..

Keep in mind, more often than not, the RB makes the Offensive Line, not the other way around. Regardless of your O Line, if the RB doesn't hit the holes, break tackles and make people miss, it doesn't matter. The O-Line only gets the RB started.

With that said, the past two years, Holmes has been the best. Without a doubt. Scoring machine. Receiving, running, the whole nine yards.

Now Ricky came to the dolphins with the exact same line they had the previous years and turned in almost a 2000 yard season. It's hard to argue with that. And anyone who says he can't catch is ignorant and hasn't even watched him play. He played a big role in the receiving game this year. More than a lot of those other guys you mentioned.

So those are the two best in my opinion. Faulk is more of a receiver that plays RB in a great system, or a past great system. He is good, but give it to him 25-30 times like Holmes and Williams and he won't produce the same.

McCallister and Tomlinson are good, but not THAT good just yet.
