I would like to start by thanking everyone for all of the fabulous posts. I have read countless posts over the past few weeks; everything from dieting and nutrition to cycles to training. You have all contributed greatly to my understanding. Thank you!
Here's a brief background relating to how I ended up aspiring to be a bodybuilder...
I'm a competitive skysurfer and I push my body really hard. Skysurfing is strenuous. 150mph upside down at 13,000 feet with a 5 ft board strapped to my feet generates a lot of resistence. And a LOT of fun! It's a rush!
Unfortunately I am guilty of overtraining, plus I sustained a few injuries. I'll spare you all of the details, but I crushed L4 in my back, broke 4 ribs, broken collar bone, tore up both shoulders, and tore the tendons in my right foot.
I was never a huge guy (6'1" & 190 lbs), but I was solid. I always wanted to be huge, by my parent's negative psychological reinforcement seemed to keep me at bay and out of the gym for most of my years.
Skysurfing is my life and I really wanted to get back in the sky so I started weight training a few months back. Over the past few months, I have become hooked! I love going to the gym! I train hard... with intensity. I see these other clowns just going through the motions and it baffles me. Why do they even bother?
I bought the book "Arnold, the education of a bodybuilder" and read it cover to cover in a couple days. I couldn't get enough knowledge. I also bought the "Encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding" and read that. What a great resource! I also joined this site and read everything I could. I have really focused on absorbing as much knowledge as possible. I want my diet, training, and supplements to be as effective and efficient as possible.
That is the purpose of my post. I am looking to all of my BROs for advice. I have only been passionate about bodybuilding for a short time and I value all of your years of experience.
I have developed and refined my diet a few times, and developed what I believe is an effective training schedule. Compared to my initial goals, my results are phenomenal. I have gained 12 pounds of muscle in the past 8 weeks. Just training, diet, and lots of sleep. No anabolics.
Fortunately, I have a good income, so I can afford to eat well, get the right supplements, and get the best medical care. I'm 36 years old, so I went and got a complete physiological profile done. Everything. What a process that was! I felt like a real guinnea pig.
During all of this, I have become addicted to bodybuilding. I feel amazing! I can't wait to go to the gym every day. What started as a means to get me back in the sky has become a true passion in my life. I know I'm just getting started, but I want to start off on the right foot.
To aid in repairing my body and to correct my hormone levels (remember I'm 36 not 20), my doctors have put me on anabolics and growth hormone. I will start tomorrow. I will post my diet, training plan, and anabolics. I could use your input and insight.
By the way, I'm a bit nervous about posting after reading 38532nd's post on his cycle with mini muffins.
I'm going to take a quick break because it's time to eat (I eat by my stop watch). I will post the remaining items afterward.
