Did you diet for the Arnold or do ya always look that good?:D

I know you cycle your carbs for a show but how did you prepare for this?

Nahhhh I started eating cleaner and rotating carbs about a month or so out from the Arnold...cut out some of my pb binging and pizza nights:) Plus I have been so busy w/ school and moving...always on the go so my activity level has increased....i ate some junk this week and just started my pre-contest diet for my summer show....thnks for the compliment...did almost 0 cardio so far....Im tellin ya diet is key..then add the cardio in to get off the hard last to go stuff......

You're telling my you did NO cardio? I KNOW I am doing something WAY wrong!!! I can't believed you did that in two years! I'm still chasing my dreams and pluging away now for 18 years. So let's say I would like to lean up for the summer(meaning definitely not a show but more muscle separation). I'm trying to put some ideas together and figure out what would be best to do. My BF suggests I need to kick it off with a big bang of CARDIO, but that's the last thing I want to do. Since you've seen me in person, can you make some recommendations?

Cardio is the icing on the cake, not the cake itself. Most of the leaning out process should be done with diet, cardio just adds to caloric expenditure. Cardio per se continues to be grossly overrated for fat loss. Just increasing daily physical activity will work wonders (walking).

can u post a sample of your diet?? How are you training? What is your bf% now?? Goals???

1) Protein shake w/1/4 cup oatmeal

2) Chicken or tuna w/1 cup rice

3) 1/2 protein bar

4) Chicken or tuna w/either 1 cup rice or vegys

5) Protein shake

Sometimes the order may change slightly from 2-5. Lately I've been doing a no-no sliding in bagels for the rice or oatmeal,...and it shows. Ive also been eating more protein bars lately too.

For the "winter" Ive cut back on cardio to maybe 3-4 times/week of 45-60 min. If I'm in a bind I'll do a 20-30 min higher intensity session. Weights have been one body part every 5-7 days except no chest.

Wilson6 - I always thought that when dieting you are cutting cals so your BMR slows down, to avoid it, increase cardio and don't cut cals as much. I guess I have it backwards?

I'm not looking to shred up, just lean out for a healthy athletic look. If I could get as lean as you are NEW@ I would be MORE than satisfied! I'll send ya the pic of us just in case you forgot what I looked like.

I can tell you right away you are not eating enough calories!!! You need more food GIRL!!! I eat more than that on my pre-contest diet...you need MORE REAL FOOD...less bars..shakes etc...i usually cut out bars when dieting..only take in 1 shake a day...unless I am crazy busy and have to...eat at least 6 times a day...6 oz of meat..lean red meat, turkey breasts, chicken, tuna, fish etc...eat veggies w/ every meal..keeps you full and regular:) I would rotate carbs...high/low...drink TONS OF WATER...cardio is good.....but I am telling u it is 90% diet...low-intensity cardio is ok...in the AM is best...if you eat clean and train heavy you should be able to get fairly lean..i wouldnt eat bagels!!! Keep carbs complex and clean!!!! Cut out your bars and add more real food..eat some salads...and take in some good fats too......
