I am in the process of selling my 01' 911 Turbo, undecided about new car. Should I go with the Diablo 6.0 or Ferrari 550 Maranello. I love the classic lines of the Ferrari, however the Diablo is a beast. I would appreciate any opinions from car enthusiasts on this board.

TWO GUYS AT MY GYM HAVE DIABLOS. ONE IS YELLOW AND ONE IS RED. I SEE THEM EVERY DAY SO I'M A BIT BIASED. I WOULD GET THE FERARRI.

KAYNE

why would you sell the 911' Turbo, as far as enginering there is not a bader car on the road,

But my dad has a 72' GTO v12 FERARRI and there is not a finer car than a FERARRI

Kayne, I'm leaning towards the ferrari, however it's hard to pass up the incredible power that the Lambo delivers.

Highintensity, yes the 911 is truely an engineering masterpiece, the thing handles like a mig. However, the styling of the italian exotics is incredible.

SEVEN

YOU HAVE A POINT. A FRIEND OF MINE ALSO HAS A YELLOW '99 F355 SPIDER (I THINK) AND ITS A FINE ASS CAR!!! REALLY, YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH EITHER. THE ASS WILL BE RUNNING AT YOU WHEN YOU ARE IN IT. HOW OLD ARE YOU? AND WHAT DO YOU DO? JUST CURIOUS.

Kayne, yes the girls will be drawn to these cars like flys on shit, however most of them are just whores. I just love high performance cars and rush that I get by running them full out on tracks. I am 27 and I work in investment banking.

KingKong69, I am selling to a good friend for $125,000 with only 2600 miles on the odometer!

Forget the sports cars dude...this is a muscle board, get a muscle
car. 3 suggestions:

1968 Dodge Charger
1969 Plymouth RoadRunner
1970 Dodge SuperBee

If not, what the heck, I tried....enjoy your imports !!

?? what add ons does it have? any mods? just curious since you can get a new one less than that.

where in the country are you? my best friend is an I Banker out in LA - he just closed a huge deal recently and his share of it was $625K and he might have like 4 more this year.
I envy the money you guys pull in, but not the lifestyle.

ONLY 125K!!! HANG ON, I'LL GET THE MONEY OUT OF MY SOCK AND SEND IT TO YOU ASAP. HEHE............JK

YOU SHOULD TALK TO RT10 (SEND HIM A PM). HE HAS ABOUT 10 CARS. MOST OF WHICH ARE OVER 100K.

I would go with the ferrari....
However, I just want to say I prefer men in normal, nice cars over the "my car costs more than your house" men anyday. They are usually middle aged, ugly, egotistical meat heads......

Kayne, yes I have a finance degree, which is very valuable. However, you have got to set yourself apart from the pack. Fluency or at least a basic understanding of a foreign language is highly sought after by employers. A finance degree coupled with a knowledge of Chinese of Japanese will take you far. Stay smart and keep your nose clean. Good Luck.

Are you at a major investment bank? JP Morgan, CSFB or Goldman Sachs, by chance? I know a lot of guys at those places...a real lot...I'll reserve comment until you say if you are.

I know a few people at Merrill Lynch too....you wouldn't be there would you? If I were there, I'd have taken the separation offer they made a few months ago, and looked for a job with a VC firm somewhere. Ideally, a VC job at a place that functions as a "private investment bank" for an extremely wealthy individual - something like MSD ventures. (Dell's group)

As for the cars, bro, impracticality is impracticality. I'm interested as to where you work. We may know and work with some of the same people.

DO YOU HAVE YOUR MASTERS??? SO I TAKE IT YOU SPEAK CHINESE AND JAPANESE. I'M DEFINITELY GOING TO LOOK INTO ANOTHER LANGUAGE. WHAT COLLEGE DID YOU GO TO. IF YOU DONT WANT TO PUT ALL THAT ON THE BOARD, HIT ME UP WITH A PM.

I don't know him - but every single other ND guy I know is like this :)
I know he said Ivy League, and most of them don't care that they are Ivy League, but ND is always bragging about it... sports.

anyway, I'm wrong all the time - just what I would guess.

What about a Ford Focus? Nimble, zippy, and great on gas. All this for under 17,000 and you'll have money left over for a russian mail-order bride.

I wouldnt buy either, I'd take that $125,000 and buy 3 cars.
- Ferrari (not sure what model) Kit/Replica car
- Lamborghini Diablo Kit/Replica car
- A muscle car (Camaro/Chevelle/etc. - General Motors is the shit. Fords are lame)

Kit cars can be built to your specs for $10k-$80k and look and drive just like the originals. Just make sure to do your research. A Pontiac Fiero chassis fitted with a nice kit and a souped up 350 Chevy engine or something similar is nearly indistinguishable from a real exotic, even in the speed category. I'd say the average Fiero kit car with a 350 could hit 160 or so...its not 200, but how often are you going to do 160+ mph, even if you had the real deal? Plus you would have the advantage of having both of your dream cars (in a sense). A muscle car makes you come off like you also appreciate American style and have a flair for the past.

I call BS because if you were really looking in that category of vehicle you wouldn't even be asking. Plus, the 550 Maranello (which is scheduled to be revamped next) and the Diablo 6.0 (now replaced with the Murcielago -which is Italian for "ugly as shit") are not really even in the same category/class. The Diablo although exotic, is a pig with afterburners. It is the most outlandish thing since the Countach, though.

1. 911 GT2
2. Place a $50K deposit on the Carrera GT, I did!
3. The Diablo is a piece of shit. Name another near $200,000 car that needs the clutch replaced every 5-10,000 miles. All show, no go.
4. Lotus V8 twin-turbo smokes them for 1/4 the price.
5. Put a deposit on the Cayene twin turbo ($99K +/-), I did!

Oh yeah, unless your friend is smoking crack, you can still pick up a low milage 2002 turboS (stage II, 520 HP) for around $120K
