among my favourite artists Enya, Enigma, Chicane (Halcyon and Saltwater are awsome)

you may also want to look into an album by james galloway
he combined traditional japanese music with irish flute and tin whistle
chris marks did traditional chinese music with contemporary piano
lots out there
also philip glass combined new age and jazz

Chicane is a bit different but you MUST listen to Saltwater (Orginal) and Halcyon

Vangelis also did some great songs
