Need some help on fat/carbs/protein.

To make this short and sweet. I know this ain't the right forum, but I know someone will be able to answer it here anyways.

For my bulking diet, It consists of being 50/40/10. Pro/carb/fat.

I may switch it, but my question is; When you diet, the general rule of thumb is, "never mix carbs and fats together in one meal".

Does this apply when bulking? I mean, let's say I'm shooting for 50g of fat/day. Should each meal consist of roughly 8g? or would it be best to consume the first 3 meals pro/carbs then for the following 3 meals (after my workout) have it consist of only pro/fat? So the last 3 meals have roughly 16g/meal.

Does it really make a difference when bulking? Or is the key just to shoot for a total of 50g of fat/day, no matter what meal I eat them at?

Sorry for the stupid question. I just never really gave it much though until now :)

Thanks

If I were bulking, I would definitely be taking in more carbs than that =/. You consider yourself an ectomorph?

I never stated how much I was consuming.

It'll be over 4500 calories. 50/40/10 is the ratio.

I agree... I shoot for 40/40/20... or 50/40/10 in favour of Carbs...

I'll third what the two above said. The percentage for your protein and carbs is flip-flopped. 50% carbs 30% protein and 20% fat will proove more bennificial to growth. Without adequate carbs that protein will simply be converted to glucose and essentially be useless to muscle growth. By keeping carbs hogher than protein you aren't in need to convert protein to glucose and thus it will be utilized to build/repair muscle tissue.

As for fat and carbs in the same meal. Wherever the nothion to not consume them together came from is best left unknown. It's ridiculous thinking and makes no logical sense. I have never seen evidence to avoid mixing. Fats and carbs are mixed in all foods so it's unavoidable in reality. Make sure the fats are "good" fats and you'll have your nutritional bases covered. You don't have to have fat in every meal, but I believe in balance and a continuous flow of ALL nutrients so having some good fat with most meals is advantageous.

Ok, thanks for the input. I'll try it out.

I read it in a t-mag article.
