Need help separating my playlist on my ipod please!!!!

I cant get the playlist separated in my ipod like if I make a playlist for metal I can only have that because if I make another playlist for rap it will combine the rap and metal on both playlist.Can any1 help me on separating them?Like I need one for rap one for metal and one for other music.I want them separated.

no one knows how to split song lists up on the ipod?

open up itunes
press the "+" in the bottom left corner (Create a playlist)
name the new list icon (eg:Rap)
click on "library"
drag songs onto the Rap icon
