i have been off cycle for about 5 months or so. i have about 7 or 8 cycles under my belt over the last 4 years. i'm 32 y/o now and wanna have thorough bloodwork and testing done prior to my next cycle. anybody have any advise or info they can share on what to expect so that i don't go into this visit totally ignorant?

* will the visit and tests be covered by my medical insurance?
* what should i say to the doc...why am i there :p ?
* should i tell the doc about my AAS use?
* what kind of questions and tests should i expect?
* what are some key areas to focus on? (cholesterol, HTPA, natty test, liver, etc)?

thanks in advance bros. any and all info is greatly appreciated!

Don't tell him abour your AAS use; all you would get is a long lecture.

Tell him that your libido is down and you have heard that low testosterone can cause that.
Be a squeaky wheel - be persistent that you want your testosterone levels checked. The worst that can happen is that your Endo will think you are a nuisance. Doctors are used to dealing with nuisance patients.

Tell him that you have family history of high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. That will force him to do a cholestrol/lipid panel. If not, ask for it. You have to be fasting for about 14 hours (a lot of water but nothing else) for correct results for cholestrol panel.

Also tell him that you want to have a 'general' blood test. Tell him that you are worried about your liver because sometimes you binge drink (six pack or more). He would have to do a comprehensive metabolic profile (includes liver and kidney functions).

May be you can make a list of the blood tests that you want (from the above list). If you have good insurance, I am sure Endo would have no problem with it. Who knows - may be he gets kickbacks from the lab.

AAS doesn't have much effect on thyroid/TSH levels.

Your Endo may think you are a hypochondriac but you will give what you want.
