hey all, I have been very strong with diet and lifting and gone from 14% down to approx. 11%. My goal is to get to and stay at 6-7%. I feel like it is carbs that are keeping me back. I don't eat a lot at all and avoid sugars. I do not drink soda, eat candy, etc. However, I think my body is trying to hold on to my weight and last bits of stubborn fat (I am a fairly muscular 192 at 5'9)

Soooo, I am thinking that I am going to go high protein, low fat(efa's and other fats avoiding saturated ones), and very low carb. I am wondering though:

Is it ok/healthy to cut pretty much all fruit out of one's diet?? This is where my carbs come from along with complex carbs.

Here is my plan for carbs:

I drink all low carb Isopure for shakes and put a few resberries in(maybe 10 at most). I will have 1 banana as a snack during the day and one mid-morning snack of whole grain rice(2cups).

Then, post-workout I am thinking of adding in a carb drink that has 70G Carbs(60complex/10glycerol).

How does this look?? Too many carbs post-workout, too many carbs througout the day?? The rest of my diet is tons of veggies and salad, lean meats, the low carb isopure shake, and other protein rich foods like cheese, seafood, etc.

Thanks a ton!!

just keep teh carbs low and the protein high, and go a lot of cardio and youll get there man. no need for super drastic diet changes when you're that close.

gotta trick your body. extremely low carbs for 3 or 4 days, then a bit of a carb up. Can't let your metabolism get accustomed to anything or it will adjust.

I agree- cycle calories to trick the metabolism. And HONESTLY, I would cut the fruit until you get to where to where you want to be...fructose is not necessarily your friend- I would go with oats or black beans for carbs, and then dextrose post workout carbs- maybe 60g or so. Good luck!

Patrick Bateman is my hero. as i'm sure you'll agree, "I believe in taking care of myself, in a balanced diet, in a vigorous exercise program. If I wake up and my face is a little puffy, I'll put an ice pack on it while I do my crunches. I can do a thousand now."

Yes, u can be perfectly healthy with no fruit in your diet, don't sweat it. I find I get my leanest on a high protein, low carb, low fat diet as well. It isn't fun at 1st but if u get used to it it's not that bad. As an interesting side not, Christian Bale aka Pat Bateman followed a grilled chicken and steamed vegetable diet to get into his awesome shape in American Psycho.

PWB- I did not know that about Bale's diet, it helps explain how fucking ripped he was!

All the posts are fantastic guys!! I am not going to do anything drastic, just have a clean low carb/low fat/high protein diet for every 4 days and then a carb up/slight loosening of the diet(still no soda, candy, etc)

WONDERING, HOW MANY DAYS SHOULD THE CARB UP/CALORIE UPPAGE LAST>>>> 1 or 2 and then back to the 4 days strict????

Christian Bale most likely also followed a strick steroid regimen. No one in hollywood gets that cut naturally. I'll put money on it.

but my friends are your friends! I've thought about that... you can have them.

In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser. Then a honey-almond bodyscrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gelscrub. Then I apply an herb mint facialmasque, which I leave on forty minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

PB - as far as the diet goes i would try cutting all fruit out for a couple of weeks and see if you notice a difference... Carbs should be minimal... The only high GI stuff would be after workouts with your whey protein... Make up the caloric difference from dropping the fruit by adding some EFA's to your lowest or no carb meals... Keep us posted.

patty - Just wondering if you where making any progress. If you tried anything different..
i also wanted to bump this thread up in the hopes of getting more american psycho quotes.....
