NEED TO TRACE SOMEONE'S IP ADDRESS! HELP!!!!!!

I know I haven't been on much, but screw that part for now.


Is it possible for me to find out who or where someone is by their IP address?

I know absolutely shit-one about computers.

A guy who stole my $7,000 wrestling ring is posting on a message board, where it gives his IP address.

Is it possible?

Does anyone know?

I need to find this man.

There's a wheelchair with his name on it.

PLEASE help me if you can.

if you know someone who has access to a unix box they can run the "whois" command with the IP address.

Or on a windows computer you can type "traceroute" then the IP address and you can at least find out the service provider.

Val you might want to rename the title of this thread or create a new one so that the technical folks might help you.

Because he leased the space it was in, and had a key.

Went in there, and the place was totally cleaned out.

Everything was gone.

He did it at about 1 am.

The thing is, the cops called it an "Ownership Dispute" and not theft, even though we provided proof of the ownership of the ring.

I know.

2,700 lb wrestling ring.

He took it to Canada, and now he's back in Utah.

I just gotta find the fucker.
