Need Advice

Hi I'm 22 years old and im 6'4 270 and around 17% body fat(last time i had it checked). I am wanting to cut down and get ripped. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hows your diet?
 
My diet consists of 5-6 meals a day....breakfast is 2 scoops of protein w/skim milk..morning snack is a can of tuna on honey wheat bread...lunch is a salad, can of tuna, and grilled chicken....afternoon snack same as morning......dinner is usually 2 chicken breasts or salmon filets on honey wheat......then after working out i'll have another 2 scoops w/skim and sometimes befofre bed i'll take a mrp with 40g protein and 17g of carbs.....i also supplement glutamine

My workout regimine consists of:

Chest/tris- monday and thursday
Back/bis- Tuesday and Friday
Shoulders/Legs- Wednesday and Saturday
Sunday off

I also do cardio on non basketball days and i do abs every other day.

I will however admit that with my work schedule it sometimes becomes hard to follow these guidelines but its my new years resolution and i'm definately gonna get there this year one way or another. Once again any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How long have you been following the above regimen?
If it's a New Year's resolution & you've only been doing it for ~3 weeks, be patient & give it some time.

Diet and w/o look pretty in check, maybe add more cardio being you want to lose wight.
 
i've been doing this on and off since high school........in high school i was a big sports "star" playing varsity baseball, football, and basketball in 9th grade for teams that all won state titles in 4A which is the big division in SC. I was in really good shape until i got into a car accident early in my junior year and tore my left shoulder...when this happened it demoralized me and i quit all sports to concentrate on academics(i was a geek too) to get into a top notch university...when i did this i added a lot of weight and ballooned up to a fat 300lbs....then my freshman year of college i dropped down to a decent 245 while running 3 miles a night and working out regularly and taking ephedra of course.....but yes i've been in decent shape before and like i said work schedules have gotten me back up to the weight i am but i have continued to work out as much as possible over the past 5 years and my routine has only taken a big hit in the past year with my new job...i am just tired of having the genetic gut and i want to get ripped...any other solid advice would be awesome....especially dealing with abs or how to get them....thanks
