Need a doctors input on Blood test.

I have a quick question for you. I took a very thorough blood test that was for my Health insurance and for a test therapy. I waited 10 days for the results and then started to get nervous so I called them and they told me that everthing was ok. This was suppose to include everything Chol, Thyroid, Test, so on and so on. Also it was suppose to test for drugs and HIV abd other STDs. I asked the doc over the phone about my Chol, CK enzymes, HIV, and a few other specifics. He said everything was ok and I have nothing to worry abotu. I got the results in the mail and they didn't test for drugs(status not tested) or HIV (status not tested) and missed a couple other things. WTF. I called him and asked what was up with that and he said the drug test was performed and it was clean. He said the HIV test was unecessary because my White blood cell count and everything else looked perfect. I don't think my insurance will accept this. I thought they had to specifically test for HIV and the other things I ordered. Does this sound right or did I pay all that cash and got screwed??? Karma to those who take the time to answer

That won't be acceptable if your insurance company specifically asks for AIDS/HIV testing. If specific drug testing was supposed to be done, then you have to have it. The lab should re-do the required/requested tests at no charge.

cool thanks Doc...... I don't mind sticking myself with pins but hate getting my blood drawn. Makes me nervous
