I know its Cage is his usual over the top acting style, but this was the perfect popcorn flick. A fun movie ride down history lane with some comedy and suspense thrown in. If you are looking to go to the movies and just veg out to a good action flick then check this one out.

I've heard a lot of people say it's good but these are the same people who think Cage is a good actor so their opinion is kinda flawed lol. I'll wait for the DVD

After reading this, I can only conclude one of the following:

a) you are an idiot
b) you have no taste
c) you also loved the Punisher

I still can't decide which one to land on.

I am actually a very good judge of films since I studied the subject for a couple of years at the University. Is national treasure going to win any awards, no. I was simply relaying for those that care that this is a solid "popcorn" flick.

While maintaining superbly zippy pacing with not exactly supercharged material, director Jon Turteltaub works in all kinds of arcane historical and civics tidbits. It's basically a social studies course you can laugh with.
None of this should work, but as always Bruckheimer finda a way.

C'mon. Admit it. You loved Punisher and AvP too.

lol, Punisher. That is actually my nickname but I would rather watch Dalf Lundren's sp* version.

The funny part is when I went to go rent the new version with Thomas Jane and thought to myself, "This has got to be better then Dolph's version."

My brother called me right after it was over to ask how it was...I just said, "Just remember the Dolph version as the GOOD one."

I mean, really. A hell bent viligiant who wears a skull and kill criminals. HOW COULD YOU SCREW THAT UP?

Everyone gets lucky. Ever seen Tombstone? Didn't you think that Val Kilmer was a great actor after it? Psyche!

Nicolas Cage is also great in Adaptation. He is a good actor.

I find that's true with most of his movies.
