Napster's coming back!

nobodys gonna pay for downloading mp3s

DUH
It's just another "mp3.com". I bet they'll make plenty of money, assuming they have some marketing geniuses behind it.

Especially in the US, consumers often prefer paying more to shopping around. That's why price disparity exists even among well known and reputable companies on the net.

As long as kazaa is alive... nobody will pay for mp3s. Kazaa can get annoying with the stupid fake files and shit... but it is still much better than free.

This is especially true if people cannot download things like movies and programs on the new napster.

even if napster was free again i wouldnt use it

i can get porn on kazaa

And charging for it! Yay, just like the Old Napster....

It's going to be yet another internet flop.
Hope no one here works for them.

Kazaa won't last much longer... i'm sure the RIAA is already after them.

Not sure what your point is on that. But I'll assume it's to suggest that p2p file trading is going to die soon.

You cannot shut down things like FTP, IRC or the usenet. No one single person regulates any of that stuff.

Yeah... ftp and irc will always be around... but p2p won't

p2p is sort of a core office concept nowadays, there is no way they can stop someone from opening a share folder and making it public.

There are prolly hundreds of p2p javascripts running around the US. Most of them are junk, made by and distributed by local colleges trying to be the next napster.

The widely distributed ones like kazaa are targets simply because they are victims of their distribution.

p2p will never stop.

Just checked out the new napster. They are chargin 99 cents a track and 9.95 an album! What a bunch of jerks. Who would pay that much? You might as well buy the CD.

I wouldn't be shocked to see kazaa going down now. They wouldn't be charging that much if they thought kazaa was going to still give away the same songs for free.

You can't shut down usenet but the RIAA and MPAA are pushing for a law making it illegal for ISPs to carry the illegal (good) newsgroups. But that won't even work because I see people posting in new newsgroups with names totally different from what's posted in them.

At a buck a song, my the songs on my mac are worth more than two new machines.
