Nandi! Liver Detox!

Hey, we all know Nandi is a pretty well-read bro! I read this post over at Triedia which makes me wonder about finding a "true protector" of our 2nd most precious organ---liver!

Quote from some guy at Triedia:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people have said that the calcium glucarate in Tyler Liver Detox will negate the toxicity,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nandi's response:

"I'm no expert on herbal remedies, but Tyler's has always sounded like a waste of money to me, especially for AAS.
Calcium D-glucarate is supposed to increase detoxification of carcinogens and tumor promoters/progressors by inhibiting beta-glucuronidase and preventing hydrolysis of their glucuronides, according to the hype I have read.

The odds of you getting cancer from AAS use are pretty small. What should concern an oral AAS user is cholestatic liver disease.
I have never heard anything about calcium glucarate preventing this in animals. "

I would love to gain some much needed insight to this IMPORTANT-ASS subject ALA! Anyone who uses AS should be knowledgeable about liver protectors!

Nandi----what about:
1) ALA
2) Milk Thistle
3) Tyler's

Oh hell. I just ordered some Tylers last night. was going to run that and rALA at 800mg on my upcoming cycle. Oh well guess I still will, can't hurt.

Estradiol replacement therapy can lead to the same type of liver damage as 17aa steroids, namely cholestasis and cholestatic hepatitis. Since millions of women are on HRT there has been way more research on preventing estrogen induced cholestasis but I would bet the same things that help with estrogen would help with AAS. Silymarin has shown promise (1). Estradiol depletes glutathione as well, and this is thought to impair bile flow, contributing to cholestasis (2). ALA may very well help here, since it increases glutathione. IMO the only thing ALA is good for is its antioxidant properties. I would go with ALA for sure, and if you believe the hype about Tyler's why not use it? I doubt it could hurt. The glutathione/ALA connection looks like the best avenue to me.

A little knowledge can hurt more than a lot. Let me tell you why Tyler Liver Detox is even offered to you.
Tyler Liver Detox is only sold by doctors. You can't buy it in a store or online. You have to make an appointment, go to the doctor and if he thinks you need it he will give it to. I first heard about it when Dr Scruggs who is without a doubt the most famous and sucessful steroid doctor in this country suggested I use it when my liver values got too high using winny, accutane and oxandrolone. I used it and within 4 weeks all my levels dropped back to normal. I have used it since.
I immediately went to Tyler and then the distributor and asked if we could sell it in the AF Store. We were told no thank you only doctors can sell the product. So I found a way around that by having a doctor get it for us. In the year we have carried it I can't even count the number of people on the boards who have used it to lower their liver values and protect their livers while on accutane or AS. Twice this summer we've had doctors contact us about it because their patients are on this board, they used Tyler, and they saw the improvement in those patients liver panels and wanted to know more about it. One doctor in Dallas actually bought two bottles.
It is a combination of 38 ingredients. Not just Glucarate. Which by the way its been known to protect your liver from the toxic effects of ANY chemical. It is not just for carcinogens although that would be enough for me. Dr Walaszek at Ohio State University has proven this and been awarded a patent for Glucarate. Look it up.
Why do I write this? The idiots will say because AF makes money selling it. Like we are surviving on the $60/wk we make on Tyler.
No I am writing this because this has happened before. Someone says this ingredient or that doesn't do anything for you and starts this idiocy of bashing the best product people have in our little world of AS users for protecting their liver and maybe causing someone who needs it to pass on it.

Nandi this is not intended to be an attack on what you posted, it strictly informational.

Thanks Ulter! But......It would definitely benefit me more personally if I were to see the actual abstracts (medical) from all those claims! Got any? I'm one of those "don't believe the hype" kind of guys BUT I love to educate myself when its available!

Nandi-----any rebutle?
