Myths and Lies of Illegal Immigration

Hengst

New member
Because the pro-illegal alien lobby has a bottomless pit of money and can hire PR people to spin (and fabricate) anything any way, there are an undue number of myths and lies that the public (and many politicians) has bought into. The FACTS are:

1. It is NOT racist to call these people "illegal aliens" In fact, "illegal aliens" is the only term used in federal laws and regulations to describe criminals (and they ARE criminals) who come into our country illegally. They are not illegal immigrants, not undocumented immigrants, not migrant workers, and not day laborers - they're ILLEGAL ALIENS.

2. Mexico is NOT a poor country. It has one of the tope 10 richest economies in the world, and by sending its teeming masses to our country, that status keeps on rising. Mexico has more resources per square mile than the U.S. and plenty of money to take care of its own people. Why should the taxpayers of this country subsidize Mexico's corruption?

3. Illegal aliens are NOT necessarily coming here to work. Lou Dobbs recently reported that 33 percent of our prison population is now comprised of non-citizens. Plus, 36 to 42 percent of illegal aliens are on welfare. So, for a good proportion of these people, the American dream is crime and welfare, not coming here to work.

4. Illegal aliens are NOT doing work Americans won't do. What jobs won't Americans do? In most states, Americans still clean their own houses, do their own landscaping, clean hotel rooms, work in restaurants and fast food places, paint houses, DO CONSTRUCTION WORK, work in airports, etc. - just like we have the past 200 years before "our" government allowed these people to invade our country. There are 18 million Americans who cannot find a job, so illegal aliens who are coming here to work do so at peril to American workers.

5. Illegal aliens absolutely do not contribute more than they cost. Certainly the millions in prison and on welfare aren't contributing a dime to our economy, and the ones who are working often are paid in cash with no deductions for taxes at all. The ones who use fraudulent social security numbers and qualify to pay taxes and social security have so many deductions for dependents that they pay little if any taxes. We have seen them pay less than $100 in taxes and get back $4,000 refunds (thanks to earned income tax credits and multiple dependents). The Center for Immigration Studies estimates that the average Mexican illegal alien costs U.S. taxpayers a whopping $55,000 each. Some bargain, eh?

6. The economy does NOT depend on illegal aliens. Sure, greedy CEOs (making $50 to $150 MILLION a year) and business owners depend on illegal aliens, but due to #3, #4 and #5 above, the only thing illegal aliens are contributing to is the collapse of our economy and making the rich richer.

7. Without illegal aliens, the price of agricultural products and other goods and services will NOT soar. The definitive study on this subject is the University of Iowa's "How Much Is That Tomato?" The study concludes that 'since labor is such a small component of the end-price of agricultural products (which includes price to the growers, transportation costs, processing /storage costs, grocers' profit, etc.), using minimum wage workers instead of illegal aliens would increase prices of agricultural products by approximately 3 percent in the summer and 4 percent in the winter ... hardly the making of $10 heads of lettuce, $25 hamburgers, $1,000 per night Days Inn hotel rooms like the pro-illegal alien lobby claims.

8. Consumers are NOT benefiting from lower labor costs. Again, it's CEOs and business owners who benefit from taxpayer subsidies for their illegal alien workers. The Big Three automakers say they moved so many jobs to Mexico because their labor costs are 80 percent less than in America.

Anybody notice the price of new cars spiraling downward under NAFTA?

Myths and lies of illegal immigration

By Kathy McKee; January 4, 2004; published in The Sonoran News

McKee is the state coordinator of Citizens Against Illegal Immigration, as well as director of Protect Arizona NOW. A former Quaker Sunday School teacher and Volunteer of the Year in a large metropolitan area, she has a 35-year record of charity work and philanthropy largely benefiting minorities.

Interesting......I should copy & paste this as a local town councilman tried to pass an ordinance to fine illegal immigrants along with other things & he got vilified in the papers as being "racist."

The illegal alien issue is touchy cause now that the US has such a large hispanic population congressmen pussy foot around the issue for fear of losing votes....a failed state...

the only thing that bugs me is that you can become an american citizen... we were the melting pot. Jesus... why can't people just apply and wait

1. Non-Citizen does not mean illegal alien.
2. Illegal aliens do NOT get welfare.
3. They do work americans don't wan't to touch.

Do I support illegal immigration - absolutely not, but at the same time I don't believe in hype. It's the same way if you ask certain people of this country how much we donate in foreign aid and they'll say 30-40% and make all kinds of arguments how we need to focus on hunger in this country. The actual number is <1%, and these hungry people they speak of are some of the fattest people I've seen in the world!

haha yeah, so citizens have been taking it into their own hands and staking out the border with guns telling illegals to F off.

3. They do work americans don't wan't to touch.

1.Calling an illegal alien an undocumented immigrant is like calling a burglar an uninvited house guest.

2.The 1996 Welfare Reform Act may have erected barriers to a non-citizen's eligibility for SSI(Supplemental Security Income), but it did not come close to ending it. The very group Congress sought to make ineligible for SSI, people who may have entered the U.S. illegally but through a series of happy accidents permanently reside here under color of law ("PRUCOL" aliens), has been able to hold on to SSI eligibility through a combination of lawyering and lobbying. In addition, whether or not the original illegal alien is eligible for welfare or not doesn't nessasarialy matter. Any children they may have on U.S. soil automatically become U.S. citizans making them eligible for education, WELFARE and any other service you can think of at taxpayer expense.

3.Between 4 and 6 million jobs have shifted to the underground economy since 1990. These are not “jobs Americans won’t do, but rather jobs Americans used to do.“

4.It's estimated that approximately 5 million illegal workers (one-quarter of illegal aliens) are collecting wages on a cash basis and are avoiding income taxes.

The United States is the "Melting Pot", but we are a nation of laws and those laws must be followed.

UA_Iron is correct in his assesment of illegal aliens basically taking over some States in this country.

etc. etc.

The government already knows all this.

They CHOOSE not to do anything (while putting on a facade that they are) cuz they require those hispanic votes.

yesterday's US citizen kids of illegals .. are now in government and can vote.

Illegal aliens from 1996, all 2.3 milion of them, got amnesty and can now vote as well.

Add it up.

This lobbying and voting power is getting bigger and bigger. Soon NO politician can be elected in california if he doesn't run on a pro-illegal, no borders, campaign.

These people who came -- obviously want to remove barriers so they can bring their other family members here too. And so on.

The floodgates have opened and it's too late now to try and close it.

The end result is ... americans are moving out of certain areas and away from these illegals. Which is what is happening in heavily divided Los Angeles where the exodus of middle class people to Arizona and Nevada has been going on for years now.

And these areas .. devoid of the middle class americans .. are slowly turning back into Mexico. The same shithole they came from.

This is the new America.

Even if the flood gates have opened, I don't believe it's too late to stop it. Ideally, all of the illegal aliens in the US right now would be deported, realistically, I don't believe that will happen.

BUT - we can stop the flow and prevent more illegals from entering the country. We need to demonstrate to our lawmakers that the vast majority of americans want strong border controls. We can support groups like the Minutemen Project and support those rare elected officials that do dare to take a stand against the pro-illegal lobby. Folks like Rep. Tom Tancredo from Colorado.

The heart of the issue is the availability of benefits such as welfare to illegals. Take that away and behavior changes.

Interesting prison stats. Scary.

Mexico is a poor country. the corrupt ones always are.

Our former whore sucking mayor decided she was going to invite a dozen Somali refugees to Maine. She told the locals that the relocation program was funded by grants (not true).

There are now 1700 Somali's living in a small Maine town using the General Assistance fund for living expenses. Even worse, the Somali's figured out how to obtain welfare using a loophole that allows foreign refugees access to continuous payments without having to show proof of attempts to gain actual employment.

And....they told their families back in Africa how to obtain money...so another 1000 have applied to come here.

But downtown Lewiston and Portland are looking like downtown Mogadishu these days.

In a state that is 99.99999999999% white....it's bizarre..

Even worse, the City of Lewiston tried to send 200 Somali's to Lisbon Maine.
The town of Lisbon was pissed because Tommy Fields was from Lisbon...before he was killed in downtown Mogadishu..

He was one of two Rangers who dropped into the compound where Michael Durant's downed helicopter crashed.

Some of the Somali's here admitted to being members of Aidid's clan.

Weird? Fucked up!

Mexican mom gives birth in BP helicopter

By Analilia Esparza
ARIZONA DAILY STAR

Elva Hernández never imagined she'd give birth to a son in a medical helicopter flying over the Arizona desert.

The 29-year-old woman, who was seven months' pregnant, felt contractions and went into labor after walking in the heat, rain and in the cold of night for nearly 20 hours as she and her family tried to illegally enter the United States.

Hernández, her children and her husband were abandoned by a smuggler soon after she went into labor.

Last Sunday, she gave birth in the helicopter minutes after being rescued by U.S. Border Patrol agents.

She and the premature baby, Christian, a new U.S. citizen, were taken to Tucson's University Medical Center. The infant is stable, but remains in intensive care. Hernández left the hospital Tuesday.

"It's a miracle that we're alive," said Hernández, a native of Jalapa, Veracruz. Her husband, Primitivo Bautista, 32, and their two older sons, Alejandro, 14, and Daniel, 12, along with their niece, Luz María Hernández, 12, were staying at the Ronald McDonald House last week awaiting Christian's release.

The Mexican consul in Tucson arranged their stay at the house, which provides no-cost temporary shelter to families of children with special medical needs.

The cost of Christian's medical care is still unknown, said UMC spokeswoman Katie Riley. But with neonatal emergency-room care costs of up to $3,000 a day, the total can mount quickly.

If the family can't pay the bill, it will be absorbed by the hospital and passed on to consumers and taxpayers.

It's a cost American citizens shouldn't have to pay, said Wes Bramhall, president of Arizona Immigration Control, an organization opposed to illegal immigration and immigration reform.

"We cannot accept all these people crossing into this country to give birth to babies. She was seven months' pregnant. … She should have stayed in her country and given birth in Mexico," said Bramhall.

He blamed Mexico's economic failures and the U.S. failure to enforce its immigration laws for the situation.

William N. Johnston, who heads the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services in Tucson, said Christian's birth on U.S. soil makes him a U.S. citizen under the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

When the child turns 21, he can petition to legally bring his parents and siblings to the United States.

The solution is "a humane law" to help people who are already here be reunited with their families without risking their lives, said Jose Matus, director of the Tucson-based human-rights group Derechos Humanos.

"It's an unfortunate part of U.S. policies," said Matus. "If the law would permit her to stay and work she would pay her hospital fees and the taxpayers wouldn't have anything to complain about. But instead she will be deported with the newborn."

Yes, AZ is a prime example and we don't want illegals in this state period. I like the minute man patrols and so does most of America. The US gov't is a big sack of pussies unwilling to defend our own borders here at home. Rather they want to make a stink about Koran flushing not being true and shit like that.

Activate the National Guard (state level, not federal) Post them all along the borders with Mexico and do whatever is necessary to keep the illegals out. A state has a right under the US Constitution to protect itself regardless of what the federal gov't says.

The National Guard is each governor's personal military to be used as the gov. sees/deems fit.

Activate them, post them on the borders and seal them up. No water stations, no incoming drugs, no incoming illegals, etc. If you don't turn around you get arrested/finger printed/detained and sent packing back the way you came. Crossing illegally into this country is no different than if you invaded the country as part of an army.

We are at war, not just in Iraq/Afghanistan, but right here, right now, right at home. Wake up people, smell the coffee.

Illegal aliens can't vote. How are they politicians losing votes? I can't see why anyone who is a tax-paying citizen supporting illegal immigration (unless you employe them).

yeah but their 30,000 cousins might be able to.

if the politicians would stop worrying about who they might offend and instead took care of business they would get elected/re-elected. You can't please all the people all of the time.

If you think that illegal aliens can't vote, then you are swallowing the liberal's propaganda, hook, line, and siker.

Used to be my favorite line as a deputy. Got a green card? Nope, you go to jail booked USA (means you don't get released till positive id is made, but by then we have already called immigration and your ass was on a bus back to shit hole mexico and pres. vincenti or who ever it is now.)

Lets all enter Mexico illegally. Ignore immigration quotas, visas, international law, and all that nonsense.

Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.

Demand that the federal government provide retirement benefits for your elderly parents.

Procreate abundantly.

Demand that the Mexican school system provide schooling for all your children.

Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do the same.

Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.

Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.

Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.

Deflect any criticism of this irresponsible behavior with, "It is a cultural United States thing. You would not understand."

Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop; proudly display it in your front window and on your car bumper.

Demand a local Mexican driver's license.

Use your Mexican driver's license to apply for other legal rights and to legitimize your illegal presence in Mexico.

Demand that the Mexican driver's license be acceptable documentation for voter's registration.

Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.

Insist that you should not have to pay taxes, because you are not a Mexican citizen and are only there "temporarily."

Good luck! You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon be dead. It
will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in
the world. The only place such things happen is right here... in the land of
the liberal and the home of the naive.

The Irish encountered the same attitude as this back in the 1800's and look at the contribution they made to America since.

The Latin influence is just the next stage of American immigration. Whats the big deal? You're boys still living in a great country and are all doing well - so why begrudge others the exact same opportunities your ancestors needed when they came to American with nothing but their clothes?

Economy - overview:

Mexico has a free market economy that recently entered the trillion dollar class. It contains a mixture of modern and outmoded industry and agriculture, increasingly dominated by the private sector. Recent administrations have expanded competition in seaports, railroads, telecommunications, electricity generation, natural gas distribution, and airports. Per capita income is one-fourth that of the US; income distribution remains highly unequal. Trade with the US and Canada has tripled since the implementation of NAFTA in 1994. Mexico has 12 free trade agreements with over 40 countries including, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, the European Free Trade Area, and Japan, putting more than 90% of trade under free trade agreements. The government is cognizant of the need to upgrade infrastructure, modernize the tax system and labor laws, and provide incentives to invest in the energy sector, but progress is slow.
