Myostatin ?'s

Well this whole super-baby thing has made me alot more interested in effects/info on myostatin. I mean is there anything available that blocks myostatin even just a little? Also any info. on myostatin would be appreciated.

I've been taking glucosamine/chrondroitin for years. I have sever arthritis in my right knee (advanced osteoarthritis, ready for a replacement) and the best formula of glucosamine I have found is from GLCdirect I buy the GLC 2000 12.4 oz Human Powder. They offer a GLC 5000 designed for horses. The formula contains 4 different forms of glucosamine (and other stuff). Add some MSM (which they also sell) and you've got a great joint cocktail. You can also purchase the glucosamine in capsules.

It takes a little while, but as bad as my knee is, I'm pretty much pain free. That is to say, it worked for me.

PEACE

As far as I know myostatin-blocking supplements are a waste of money. I had a look into them a while ago after coming across advertisements for Myostat etc.. Supplement companies have based their research on a few test tube studies of a marine algae extract that has been cultured from Cystoseira canariensis. I believe in one study Cystoseira canariensis bound tightly to myostatin – in theory this would prevent it from binding to receptor sites…

However, as with all things ingested orally, stomach acids and enzymes get to work breaking it down before it is introduced to the circulatory system. Even if the Cystoseira canariensis somehow made it through the intestine / liver it’s unlikely that this unprotected organic substance would arrive at the target tissue intact.

Although if anyone has tried any of the newer Myostatin supplements and feel they have worked I’d be keen to hear from them :)

I didn't fall tor that myostatin stuff either actually it was way to pricey and you i belive it needed to be used for at least 90 days before you will notice anything

some of the bio experts on this board mentioned that even if they are able to block myostatin, the trick would be to shut it off at some point otherwise the subject would continue to grow and grow and grow.
