My Thoughts on Supervision

I have been reading and contributing articles on this board for a couple of years. I am amazed at the number of people who train and supplement without knowledgable supervision. Obviously, this board serves as an excellent source of information, opinions, and anectodal evidence. But, for the novice, intermediate, and some advanced, it isn't cohesive enough. Obviously, when things work out, there isn't a problem. But what about the "invisible" things like Blood Profiles, Organ damage and other physiological changes? It is embarassing to have to present to your doc or ER doc AFTER the fact, because then you have to explain the cause. Prevention is best.

I see too many novices jumping into huge cycles for the first time. Why? Bad advice? Too eager? They think it is the last cycle of their life? People need to start out slowly and watch for the changes. Keep track of their blood levels. Reduce dosages when untoward side effects occur. Perhaps start out low to get the "hang of things." Be prepared. Plan everything out BEFORE you do it. Don't let money be your guide--it is your body and your health. If you can't afford to do it right, don't do it at all. Take antiestrogens like aromasin with your Testo. Take proscar if you have balding tendencies. Take Dostinex if you fear prolactin/progesterone gyno. Lower your doses if you start having untoward side effects. Do a proper recovery cycle. Get help and seek out a mentor/coach to help you with your cycles/training/diet.

It is so easy to have success if you prepare, plan and prevent. If you do this, you can cycle safely the rest of your life.

Words of wisdom Dr. JMW......wish I had someone lecture me about this back when I started instead of just jumping in. From now on I will be getting blood results done before, mid, and after a cycle!

Bump for the doc. Great post. Bros if you have medical questions ask the doc. He's helped me quite a bit in the 1 year I've known him.

great post doc...I'll bet very few guys actually get their blood panels taken. It probably has to do with a few things. It's hard to find a good doctor who will take care of you while on roids. Guidance would be nice but most doctors are scared of steroids and may drop you as a client if they know (it happened to 1 guy I know). Knowledge is the key here but most family docs are unaware of what to do or look for and will just tell you not to use cause you are killing yourself. I lucked out and while he may noy be the most knowledgeable guy, he does my blood work and checks my test levels as well...

Good post DR... I'm guilty of jumping into my first cycle as most of us here. It's good advice with a cycle or not.

To all the brothers! It's never too late to do the right thing, get yourself checked as you may have an underlying condition that will rear it's ugly head when using AS. So you learn that 17AA's arn't for you, better now then when your yellow. How do you know you don't have a kidney problem, bloodpressure issues or a crappy lipid profile? Just because your young and feel good means nothing. Good lifts to all.

Good Post. Now there is no excuse. As one of a couple of docs on the board, I am willing and able to help. The assistance isn't free, but it is there for the asking.

To the good Doctor--Check your EF email. Great post!
