My suggestions re: Karma and bad posts

I suggest providing feedback via Bad Karma vs bumping the bad post back to the top with your remarks. To clarify, bad posts = wastes of space (i.e. What kind of gear was Godzilla on)

It just makes more sense...you get your point across and the bad post falls, rightfully so.

OK, I know some smartass is going to gimme bad K for this, but that's OK.

Sorry Ruger - just trying to lighten the mood a bit with the Godzilla post. I'll stop the comedy routine.

Nothing personal, just a suggestion.
I'd just like to see the good shit stay up top, ya know.

Nothing personal (obviously), just trying to keep the good stuff on top and the rif-raf down.

Plus, keep the futile flaming down.

ideally each post should its own level of karma.
then in our settings we should be able to set it so that posts with N level of karma and higher are visible - the rest not.
much like the ignore feature here.

slashdot started the descussion board karma thing and they do it well.
also, if you write on a thread, you then shouldn't be able to give karma on it.
technically only a certain percentage should be able to give out karma, and that should be random.

all things that make it work.
the way it is right now is just something for people that care about it to gather points on via cheating the system (signing on as other users and giving "themselves" better karma, as well as starting circle jerk groups where they each give each other karma)
