No I work as a telemarketing for this university. Calling alumni, "updating records" (an excuse to call them), build "rapport" with them (have to make conversation, feign interest), then ask them for money. Boring and very depressing.

I'm not a conversationalist at all. Usually if I don't know you I won't talk. Unless it's on the information superhighway of course.

That could be worse. You could work your ass off for 10-14 hours a day doing your best to help people out, get them in a new home as painlessly as possible, only to have them bitch if a neighbor got .125% lower in different market conditions. I've gone from liking people to really disliking 90% that I meet.

Sounds rough specially the 14 hours a day part. By the time these guys are bitching it's already a done deal right? Fuck 'em then.

Good to see you back on the board again tonight! Well, he wasn't exactly known for his amazing skills of man management! Still, there's nothing worse than getting stuck beside a work colleague who gives the whole day bitching about the job, their fellow emplyees, the boss, the pay etc. You'd swear they (the annoying work colleague) was bolted to the floor and had to stay. As he said another time "Go away and annoy someone else"!!!

That's not a horrible thing to say. We're prolly talkin a jobsite environment or something. I've had bossess say worse things than that working construction....it's true. If you don't like, leave. Especially if you are bitching to the boss and you are a low level worker.

Not so much a horrible thing to say, but an attitude as a manager. If there are valid reasons for someone to be unhappy, they should be addressed. If they're a miserable POS and are messing with the morale of the whole office, crew, etc., fuck them and let them go.
