So, my house caught on fire tonight

Well the ad on anyways…..just bought my mom a new TV and was hooking it up for her when she started saying she smelled something. It smelled like a stove was left on or something, or plastic. So they start checking around. Anyways, like 10 minutes after they smelled it I here my mom say the ad on(shes adding on a bathroom and another room) was on fire. So I’m like OH SHIT!!HERE WE GO….grab the fire extinguisher, run to the new room and I couldn’t see a damn thing(didn’t burn my eyes though) so as I walked in there and was walking through the new bathroom and couldn’t see any flames, so I start walking down to the new room when I see a big pile of shit on fire along with one of the walls. Open the extinguisher and that bitch was out in like 2 seconds, I was like wtf? That’s all it takes to put out a decent fire?

Anyways, ended up my mom had someone install a new space heater today and he didn’t put the cover on it, and she stacked a pile of clothes and a comforter right by it and she said it must have fallen over on it…..ruined the new $119 space heater and burned a few studs…all I have to say is it is a maricle the whole house didn’t go up because it must have been burning for at least 10 minutes.

I’m gonna be a firefighter boys :supercool HAHAHAAH………..NOT!!

holy shit, that would have been a little freaky

when I was a little kid my friends brother lit his blanket on fire, and his mom picked the shit up while it was burning a put it in the tub, she had to go to the hospital becuase she burnt her arms and hands really good, why she didnt just put water on it is beyond me

You didn't notice Anya anywhere near by, did you?

:lmao:

yea man your lucky the whole house wasnt a loss, space heaters are notorious for thing like that, as are those halogen lamps that are tall and the bulb is ontop and open kind of...

youd be surprised what a exinguisher can put out with a proberly trained person. in the academy we'd put out gas and kerosene fires that were 2 rows of barrells wide and 5 barrells deep. and do that about 3-4x per extinguisher before they needed to be refilled

water extinguishers are even better i've put out fully involved couches with ease with those

not to mention you damn well better make sure you use them in a well ventilated area if its gas or keroscene

yeah...funny thing is I was wondering why the hell there is like 15 smoke alarms in the house a few days ago. one in each room and two in the hallway and bigger rooms lol. that got to me the most. 10 alarms were going off at onces lol

It's a good idea to have the fire department come out and check for extension, with most departments having thermal imaging cameras, they wont destroy your home like most people think.

Congratulations on having working smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in your house.
