Hey, I am doing a powerlifting show this weekend - anyone have any advice on this? I posted over on the powerlifting board but got no responses.

As of today there is no one in my weight class [not even close to my weight cass either] so I am wondering if I should even bother to show up or not.

If anyone has any advice please feel free to pass it along.

Thanks

Even wtih no one in your weight class, you still have to show up.

Shrebly,
I think you should turn up. That way you get some more experience under your belt.....and some competitions allow you to qualify for higher level comps. It is likely that there will be more people to lift against then. Its like an investment.....and you might pick up some good advice from other lifters.

Alot of people only go to see if they can get PR's on the day.....

And yes the powerlifting board can be slow.....I cant find the thread you started though.

What's the fun of competing if there is no one to compete against?

I see this game, bb & p lifting, as a competition with myself rather than against anyone shel. just my 2 cents.

Very true, also, Kneepads is out of town so I will be winging this event solo.

Should prove to be interesting.
